Did you support Nintendo this gen and plan on supporting them next gen ?

I supported Nintendo for 3 of their five gens, but the last two gens have been so terrible that I jumped ship. The Gamecube wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either, and the Wii is just flat out gastly to me. The Wii is the first gaming console I absolutely despise and will never buy. This maXe me sad so much that I wont buy the neXt Nintendo console.

I think this quote proves that the poster is racist against Nintendo. Or perhaps, a "consolist" if you will. The Wii has just as many merits as the other two systems. If it didn't, I'd have just sold it after buying my 360 and PS3.

I supported Nintendo for every gen before this one and refuse to buy any more of their products if they keep giving us this cheap, gimmicky pile of ****. Nintendo is ruining gaming by making its games simpler and more appealing to the masses. True hardcore gamers don't use the Wii as a main system or buy it at all.-Sphere-

now i'll support this post with my experiences

never owned an NES or SNES personally, had a sega genesis

then i had a psx, which began my fanboy era when i would go into system wars back in the day and talk nothing but smack about nintendo (without ever playing an n64 mind you) it was simply too kiddy for my 11 yr old gaming tastes

then my 30 yr old brother got a 64 with mario 64.. and i was done flaming nintendo for good

after learning what a party console is truly about, i managed to fall off the face of gaming with my psx, dreamcast and ps2

so i sort of got out of console gaming during that era, strictly a multiplayer pc gamer

then i borrowed my friends gamecube for a week and i was instantly brought back into the world of single player gaming (prolly a big factor of why i don't like the next gen consoles so much, i miss solid single player experiences or co op splitscreen)

so i never really got a gamecube or any nintendo console for that matter, i was always swayed towards buying a cube over an xbox though

enter nintendo wii, though i had missed the gba generation i was fairly intrigued after owning a ds about a new method of interactivity for games

and thats the story of why the nintendo wii is the first nintendo console i personally own

though it's definately not the snes in terms of support(had to go back and emulate a lot of the classics), i feel it was the best decesion of all the 3 major consoles to purchase early on (both of the other consoles have already screwed the early adopters, nintendo has not) though i do plan to perhaps buy a ps3, i actually kind've regret my 360 purchase

If support you mean buy only that console no but I always liked it and bought it along with a playstation and one gen with sega. Now I'm pretty mad that nintendo's gameplan was to ditch the hardcores and appeal to the casuals might change by E3 though.

I have played Brawl, Galaxy (didn't like too much or at all), Mario Kart Wii and I think that's it. I really want to play Twilight Princess though, because I haven't played a LoZ game all the way throughsince the masterpiece that is Majoras Mask.

I've been a Nintendo supporter from Game & Watch, NES, Gameboy, SNES, N64, GC & DS.

With GC, it's been very disapointing (but still a good system that had potential). And the Wii just convinced me how bad (and pathetic) Nintendo has fallen just to gain market share. As far as supporting Nintendo next gen, I'd probably support only their handhelds.

I would have to wait and see how Nintendo builds their next console. I could live with today's current gen graphics into next gen, but I'm too iffy on the whole Wiimote thing. It's just not my cup of tea.

I can't say I hate Nintendo, but I don't like them like I know I did back when I was younger. I didn't praise them either when I was younger. I have all Nintendo consoles except the Wii and GC(used to own one). NES was a pretty cool console, I still play the old school Mario, Ninja Gaiden and TMNT games on it every once in a while. I own my SNES which is probably up their in the top three consoles ever for me, and I still own my N64 which was a great console. Though through all of my Nintendo consoles I owned back in the day, I owned a Sega Genesis, a PS1 after my N64. I used to think the PS1 was for RPG nerds and RPGS were odd.

I then borrowed a friends PS1 and MGS1(stealth game) and was hooked. I probably borrowed and beat the game 10x in Junior High. I was then hooked on PS1 and bought one and loved every second of it, eventhe RPGs which are one of my favorite genre's now that Nintendo lacks in. I then bought the XboX, then the PS2 and then GC. I bought a 360 a year ago, and am buying a PS3 in a few months.

I just don't see the draw for the Wii for any hardcore gamers like us who sit here on a message board and discuss games. Ye, the Wii still has the hardcore Nintendo titles and that's cool, but it has almost zero great 3rd party titles. It has a few, but close to none and it's sad. I don't like the controls. They were cool for Mario Kart Wii. I loved that game BTW, because I haden't played the series since the N64 days and it took me down memory lane. MKwii very fun game. Like I was saying though, the controls just feel tacked on like a gimmick, but whatever floats your boat.

I just feel the way Nintendo is going is just not for me, and I want to see if anybody else feels the same.
