At first it thought maybe it was. In the opening part of the trailer, the level of geometry behind samus seems quite high for a Switch game. The image also seems a bit too sharp for a switch game. I have played some of the most technically impressive Switch games on a 4K screen and this looked better again on the same screen (youtube video compression notwithstanding), uncharacteristically detailed. So possibly a bridge to far for the Switch.
But I have looked at it a few more times and the more I see the more flaws I also see. The explosion at the door when Sylus enters is....er....a compromise. There isn't really a whole lot going on. Effect's look fairly basic. MP Remastered also had quite an impressive level of geometry.
But there is a distinct lack of aliasing in the footage. There is some, don't get me wrong, but I would expect significantly worse if this was on the switch itself.
So my current conclusion is a light bullshot. It could very well be the switch game: but with more AA applied to clean up the trailer. On the actual switch I don't think it will actually look that good.
If it does though then fair dues to Retro. That's impressive.
I don't think it's a demonstration of the Switch 2 anyway.
Edit: Just had a look at Metroid Prime Remastered. Yeah it's definitely a Switch game. It looks like a step up from remastered but not any sort of major step up. Whatever way they have their engine running: It seems to eat geometry for breakfast.
