Differences between Xbox live and PSN

Many people here dont really know any difference between PSN and Xbox live except Xbox live having cross game-chat which they are wrong. IMO Xbox live has many things over PSN. I will bullet point them out.

• Cross Game Chat
• 8 Men Party Chat
• Friends needed to be in your game in order to talk to them
• More Server maintainance and downage
• Voice Messaging
• Sky Player (For UK)
• Netflix without Disk
• More polished dashboard and marketplace
• More reliable and a better secruity and not get hacked
• Watching trailers without going to Playstation home
• Video Chat
• Being able to invite non-friends to game(Want to host private match with randoms) Tough Luck because of PSN
• When you want to delete friends, requests and messages, takes forever.
• Bigger fanbase
• Call of duty early exclusive 1 month map packs.
• Xbox Indie Games
• Seems alot of map packs are exclusively available early on XBL like Homefront, Crysis 2
• Skype (Yet to come)
• Free to play games (Yet to games)
• AND THE BIGGEST THING IS, EVERY WEEK YOU GET DEALS WHICH ARE CALLED DEAL OF THE WEEKS. Awesome offers and values. You dont need to pay seperately for Playstation Plus

Only difference...one's free and one isn't.

You use the Netflix disk once, and you don't have to pay for Gold to use it on PS3.

Simple enough really. Pay $60 a year for extra map packs early that you don't care about and cross-game chat, or pay nothing and get online for free and spend that $60 on games and DLC.

I dont claim to be a PSN expert so I wont be spot on perfect on knowing things. Seems that people pointing out things which are incorrect from me. SIlly me. No one is really saying or back arguing about other points like xbox live having indie games and having so you can invite non friends.

• Friends needed to be in your game in order to talk to them That's essentially just repeating cross game chat, and you can chat when your both on the XMB
• More Server maintainance and downage Sort of right it's always at times that only affects a verylow percentage, i've never been unable to play because of maintainance.
• Voice Messaging Correct
• Sky Player (For UK) Correct though the PS3 has ITV, Iplayer and 4od catchup players all free.
• Netflix without Disk Wrong i think
• More polished dashboard and marketplace Opinion to some it feels polished, others cluttered, some prefere the XMB.
• More reliable and a better secruity and not get hacked No proof of this.
• Watching trailers without going to Playstation home Wrong watchable and downloadable of the store.
• Video Chat Wrong again i think, PSN has this.
• Being able to invite non-friends to game(Want to host private match with randoms) Tough Luck because of PSN Correct, probably one of my more wanted features for PSN.
• When you want to delete friends, requests and messages, takes forever. Half right, messages can be a pain to clear but i just read them when i get chance so i don't get a backlog.
• Bigger fanbase Wrong i think, PSN has more users than there are Gold members i think.
• Call of duty early exclusive 1 month map packs. Depends if you feel this is a positive, again you've fleshed the list out by repeating lower down.
• Xbox Indie Games Correct, Xbox Indie games still out****PSN's.

True though, it is nice that there are demos and has faster downloads.

Personally, I find neither of them that great. Steam is about 5 times better than both.

Demos are the only thing I'd like. I'd be far more likely to try out arcade games if they had demos.

My d/l speeds are very fast over psn, much faster than my speeds on PC.

As much as I like XBL and prefer it over PSN, I have to disagree with your points in general. A couple points seem a little out of date? Did you c&p from another source?

Both are good and have pros and Cons but XBL is better for MP. And the PS3 is better for entertainment.

One goes down for a month or so the other doesn't.

One you have to pay to play a game online, the other doesn't.

there is far more different then that but one can simply say one is a quality service thats pay for the other is a bad service thats free.
