It runs buttery smooth on PS4. It seems it's locked at 60fps for the most part

Congrats to DICE for not screwing this one up. They finally got their engine to run properly on console.

Will be getting initially on PS4 to play with friends and then again on PC to enjoy on ultra settings. We are in for a visual feast gentlemen.

Surely the best and technical most advanced 60 fps game on consoles. Frostbite engine is a beast!

It does look amazing. 1080p30 for singleplayer games and 900p60 for multiplayer ones (especially with this level of visuals) sound like a fair balance.

I mean, its not even as big, chaotic or complicated as a real battlefield game so I would hope it runs good. Game is garbage. There are like 4 big maps and they all have the same vehicles and powerups. The flying is pointless as well

I'm watching some of the early access streams on Twitch and the Xbone version is just full of jaggiez.

It is 720p on Xbone so that's not surprising. Lets hope they can get it to run at 60fps on Xbone too, would be a real shame if it is 720p and still drops in framerate like the beta did.

It looks a lot better than BF4 though. The textures and effects are a lot nicer too, makes BF4 on console look like hot garbage to be honest. It may have only 40 players on screen compared to 60 players on BF4 but it's way more impressive visually than BF4 ever was.

Don't give a rat's ass about 60fps, i prefer 1080p native res any day. But this game really does make Halo 5 look a gen older both being 60fps. That said a MP only game does not interest me in the slightest.

@quadknight: might be more impressive visually but it's still a horrible game compared to bf4. Then again, you guys always did prefer style over substance so I'm not surprised you're into Battlefront.

I'm a top Battlefield player in my region. I'm actually ranked #2 in Texas leaderboards with tanks in BF4 and a K/D ratio of 3.85 after 926hrs of playtime. I'm anything but a casual Battlefield fan and I play it almost daily while being a fan of the series for years. I know the Battlefield series through and through and while I enjoyed BF4 it had it's fair share of issues. Is Battlefront a deeper game? Hell no but it's definitely a smoother experience than BF4 ever was in its beta or final phase. I still find numerous issues in BF4 till today and the game is 2 years old.

I don't know if I'll enjoy Battlefront more than I enjoyed BF4 but I do know that visually and technically I'm way more impressed by it than BF4. This is a graphics thread anyway so I don't know why you're bringing up gameplay in here.

@quadknight: again, sure, it's a more technically impressive game. My point is, who gives a shit about how nice a shit game looks? It runs fairly well on xbone too, although at a lower resolution. The game just has no legs or depth.

Well this is a graphics thread. Nobody ever said it was going to be a better game than BF4. That remains to be seen since the game isn't even out yet. I doubt I'll be playing it as long as I played BF4, 926 hours is what I put into BF4 and I doubt I'll be putting that many hours into a shooter again anytime soon.

@quadknight: no, it doesn't remain to be seen. I've been playing it since Friday and I'm already bored. Battlefront isn't for people who play multiplayer shooters.

As much as you sound like you know what you're talking about I'll still wait to play the full game first before I judge it. I had a lot of fun in the beta with my friends who are all Battlefield veterans and while we agreed it wasn't as deep as Battlefield it didn't stop us from having a blast with it just like we have on BF4. I'll see if it has staying power for me after I spend time with the game later today and the following weeks.

@quadknight: Lol me and my bf friends felt the complete opposite. They all cancelled their preorders. Bummed me out cause I needed a new large scale shooter.

Well that's a shame, there's always Planetside 2 on PS4 and PC. It doesn't have the flash of Battlefield series but it's still a good shooter that's unfortunately highly underrated. There's also Arma 3 if you prefer more realistic large scale shooters. It's gonna be a long wait till the next Battlefield game next year.

Its a good casual game for kids, im sure they will love it. Make great Christmas present. Nice to know it runs smooth.

Cool that it's finally smooth on the consoles. Next step will should be 1080p/60 FPS for Battlefield 5 or Bad company 3 Dice!

I share a similar experience. My bf friends were hyped until we played the beta. We got bored of it and so we decided not to get it. Surprisingly having fun with BO3.

DICE never had problms making their games run at constant 60fps with "only" 30 players

this is not a battlefield game, its not that boring 64p conquest everyone loves and its not even a first person shooter

Now that DF has been found to be a Sony sympathizer, I can't believe one damn thing that comes out of that site.

Too bad it'll be unplayable on the PS4 since PSN will go down every other day.

I've been playing on Xbox One and it runs well there too. Explosions and things like that cause hiccups but for the most part it runs well. That being said, I can't wait to play the PS4 version and experience all those extra p's. I may get the PC version down the road for the 1440p experience.

Haha look at you guys crying about DF showing frame dips on Xbox One for Fallout. You guys had no issues with them when they were calling the Xbox One versions of AC and W3 the better versions though.

All I saw was this, where they reiterate their findings from the first video they made, where you can still see the gun switching glitch and PS4 struggling more than on Xbox One during firefights. That just proved DF right, had nothing to do with NX Gamer. But how come you didn't question when DF found AC Unity and W3 better though?
