Disappointed in the new Halo Trailer...

I know thgame is going to be great and all, but i mean come on. It honestly dooes not look much better than the beta, and the beta wasn't too superior to halo 2. I think it was that trailer they showed 2 years ago with Masterchief walking out of a dropship and had really shiny armor kind of raised hopes too high. They kind of pulled a Killzone 2....wait Killzone 2 actually lived up to its graphical expectations......

It look fantastic, great gameplay, brilliant animations crisp textures and a brilliant art direction and to my mine it has the best lighting effects in any game ive seen.

The side by side comparison i've seen of halo 3 against gears puts epics game to shame. (I'm still hurting from not getting to fight Brumacks :()

I thought the game looked fantastic, it is crazy and ignorant to say otherwise as I have seen some say. If it were to ship right now I would be perfectly happy with the graphical quality.

I thought KillZone 2 and Halo 3 were up to par with the graphical stylings each game was going for.. you can't really compare a colorful sci-fi environment, with a several shades of gray war environment. At that point it goes to personal opinion.

I'd agree, they both looked fantastic for what they were. Halo 3 looks crisper, has better textures and more colours and Killzones animations during the cut scene were great. I thought halo looked slightly better because the in game footage was slightly more impressive.

It has to be said though, Killzone definately didn't match the cgi but it did well considering the pressure.

I dont think this game is a beautiful game in the least compared to many other games coming and some out in the market. Halo 3 will sell well because it has a solid following but overall I think the game looks underwhelming appearance wise. Now gameplay may be another story.

They could have put together a more exciting series of battles or cinematics.

The game will rock none the less. But yeah a better trailer could have been constructed.

I'll look for the side by side comparison, it really does make gears look average. We've also read from previews that halo 3 has amazing lighting. I think while we're no where near photo realism on consoles, the lighting in halo 3 is good enough to fool you if you don't pay attention.

yeah halo trailer was meh i have halo 1 and halo 2 and basing it on what MS showed at there event it looks donwgraded compared to there 2006 e3 and really seems like halo 2.5

It's the presentation that sucked, the game looks great. The only complaint is a few jerky animations.

Honestly, I think its the fact this game has colors that is turning people off. People are getting too used to brown/grey color palettes.

Just and FYI, every single wedsites game reviewers have said they played a portion of the single player camp and said that the game looks GREAT and the trailer did not do the game justice at all. GS said it, 1up said it and so did ign. It is clear the MS wants people to be blown away when they buy it and not months before they ever get that chance.

The game will be more than fine so chill.

If anything, Im a 360 fanboy, but I have to say, some of the denial about Halo3 on this board is ridiculous.

Apart from the awesome spartan models, and nice hdri lighting, the game is a huge dissapopintment visually.

I have to question what the hell Bungies art department have been doing with their time this last few years? importing trees from n64 games?

It seems to me that they have been fatally indulged by microsoft because of the success of the last 2 games.

KZ2 didn't. I think you should go watch the trailer. The polygon count dropped like a rock.

The animations were the worse thing about the whole video. They were terrible. The graphics itsself looks great, but the animations were no better than that of Halo 2,which I must say were not even very impressive back then.

The graphics were fine. The animations and retarded character movement and framerate is what bothered me (same with Mass Effect)

What is clear, not one person on this board has played halo 3 finished product now have we. NO! And everyone at E3, not any of us now, have all said the demo of the single player was famtastic.
