People like Animal Crossing. I tried a couple, didn't get the appeal of virtual chores (ditto to you, Harvest Moon and Rune Factory!) but more power to those who like em.

Actually, I might've played one on the GBA.

This can be said about any game. Leveling up, collectibles, ranking up, etc etc. Anything is a chore depending on your POV.

Some may view my obsession to collection everything in mario 3d world a chore. I consider it fun.

Honestly I think it's interesting that a game like Animal Crossing that is all about peaceful coexistence can sell well.

a) Animal Crossing predates them

b) Unlike Facebook games which are designed to extract as much money from you as possible and thus compromise on the actual game design, Animal Crossing is a well designed game. Too well designed, in fact.

The Last of us" is art, Animal crossing looks like crap

Animal Crossing is arguably more of a game than The Last of Us is (if we are going by purity of game mechanics and design).

Both have their place, both deserve to sell. Animal Crossing is an incredible game, take off the 'lolkiddy!' glasses, actually play the game without pre-conceived notions, and see for yourself.

Nah it is so much better games out there to spend my time with, we all got different taste in gaming but cmon man Animal Crossing rly?

I went on peoples advise who played it and didn't buy it.

I don't care much for Animal Crossing, but my wife has been playing it since the very first one came out on the Gamecube.
