I own a 360 and a Wii and they get almost = use. Here are the best games I own right now (my opinion only)

1. BioShock (This is the best game in years IMO)

2. Mario Galaxy (Fantastic game)

3. Grand Theft Auto 4 (Great game but did not deserve a 10 (9-9.5 IMO)

4. Mario Kart Wii (Just plain fun)

5. Super Smash Brawl (Once again high on the Fun Factor list)

6. Call of Duty 4.

The only way to go is to have a Wii and another console as well. The Wii is only a casual system by choice and has a great library of games not on that list. It would not be my only console but there is no way I would give it up and it should not be dismissed by the "Hardcore" crowd.

Just getting tired of "Hardcore" gamers bashing it.

I have to agree. The Wii kind of reminds me of why I game in the first place. It's great to have Nintendo in the house again. They never left but last gen they just didn't do it like they are now.

I agree, but owning a Wii only I could not be a satisfied gamer. Bottomline is it has some good games which I liked (SMG, MP3) but it doesnt provide enough of a visceral gaming experience for me. Thus, my wii has been collecting dust for months now. It appeals to a different crowd. 360, PS3 and PC games just have a different feel to them, Im not sure if its a more mature feeling or not but I would not be a happy gamer without them. I am a Wii owner and wont bash it, but in reality of just waiting for the next Zelda to come out unless Nintendo can start putting out new IP's other than rehashing their franchises (SSBB, Mario Kart Wii, Mario Party come to mind).

Not hardcore? Why can't it mean that you just don't like what they have to offer?

I disagree. I have been gaming since the 70's and have never owned a Nintendo console. You can get by.

(And there is no way in hell I would play Mario Kart or Brawl. And since I don't care for platformers, I have no real interest in Galaxy. What is "fun to some is far from it for others.)

I own both an Xbox 360 & Nintendo Wii but I stopped playing the Wii long time ago. Mario was cool when I was younger, but I can no longer get into it anymore. I'm not hardcore because I would rather play GTA IV, Rainbow Six Vegas 2, & Dark Sector than any type of Mario game or any other game in the Wii's lineup is that what your saying?

A lot of Nintendo games are deceptivly deep. It's when people that don't give these games a chance because Mario is teh kiddie I start to question if they are gameing for style over substance. I have PCWii, and I don't t think any other combination could be any better.

not dismissing but laughing at the fact people do enjoy playing Nintendo/"kiddy" games for hours on end is just plain rubbish.... e.g you can't be hardcore if you own a Wii e.t.c

After that....Meh.When the N64 came out I was into the PC and by the time the GC came out I was a full fledged hermit.. As for the Wii, I sold it after a year and I'm completely done with Nintendo. That is until they unveil a new system..Ninty consoles don't hold my attention for very long.

Doesnt mean they arent hardcore if it doesnt interest them.

Just like owning a Wii doesnt mean your not hardcore.

actually, the whole labelling thing is stupid.

lets just say, If you like the PS3/360/Wii/PC, your a GAMER.

Just Wow...I could not see myself ever hating any system. I love all gaming expect Sim racing games. Platformers, RPG, RTS, Point and click, simcity and so many more. Buying the PS3 was the longest a system has been out which I did not own. I have always bought almost every gaming system on the market to get my hands on every great game I can. I feel sorry for both of you. To me hating a company and not buying anything from them is sad. There is so many great games you are going to miss out on. That does not bother you at all. It does me I had to get a PS3 before MGS4. I had to know a 360 to play the new DDR games. I had to own a Wii to play well most of my library of next gen games.

There is enough console games on the Wii to keep you playing for a very long time if you like old school games. So much so that you could live with out another console. (ie: Turbo Grafix, Neo Geo, Genesis, SNES, N64, NES, Master System)

One type, yes(family friendly). One genre, no. It's no different than movies. A lot of people just outgrow that type of stuff. I'm not entertained as much at 27 by Disney movies as I was when I was a child, same thing with Nintendo. Doesn't mean they aren't quality products, just not interesting to me. It's cool with the family, but when I need to get my grown man on, I look elsewhere.

Because you are 27 you are to mature to play Mario even though it was GOTY, Zelda, SSBB, or even Wiisports?

Then there is third party games such has NMH, TofS, Bloom Blox and more.

I hope I am never as mature has you. There too many games out there to limit myself to just a few.

I disagree. I have been gaming since the 70's and have never owned a Nintendo console. You can get by.

(And there is no way in hell I would play Mario Kart or Brawl. And since I don't care for platformers, I have no real interest in Galaxy. What is "fun to some is far from it for others.)

Wow I feel so sorry for you.

Not everyone is in love with Nintendo.

I had a NES and HATED it. I liked my C64 a lot more. To be honest the only Nintendo console I have any real respect for is the SNES. It is one of my favorite consoles of all time. After that....Meh.When the N64 came out I was into the PC and by the time the GC came out I was a full fledged hermit.. As for the Wii, I sold it after a year and I'm completely done with Nintendo. That is until they unveil a new system..Ninty consoles don't hold my attention for very long.

I think you take the term "hate" a bit too literally. If I hated Nintendo I would never buy another thing from them. Notice that even though I said I'm done with them that I'm ok with giving them another chance? I just didn't like the NES. I liked what was being offered elsewhere better.

Please take of the fanboy goggles. You guys that think just because someone that doesn't like Nintendo games, they are "missing out" are just as bad as the "Nintendo is kiddy" people. I just have different taste in games.

[QUOTE="JayPee89"]One type, yes(family friendly). One genre, no. It's no different than movies. A lot of people just outgrow that type of stuff. I'm not entertained as much at 27 by Disney movies as I was when I was a child, same thing with Nintendo. Doesn't mean they aren't quality products, just not interesting to me. It's cool with the family, but when I need to get my grown man on, I look elsewhere.HarlockJC

Now you sound like a sheep. Please quote the part where I said I was too mature to play those games. They just don't interest me. If you like the Wii, more power to you. It's just not for me.

So... you own both Last Gen Systems and you must mean the Xbox 360 and the PS3...

Any other questions? Yet I still feel sorry for you, it just my nature I guess. Growing out of video games. How cute

if it was so HARDCORE then why are sheep constantly defending it, making threads like this to try to justify the wii to the hardcore crowd? The wii is an awesome machine, but I never play it. my son never plays it. my wife never plays it. My son plays his PS2 more. I play my 360/PS3. Our wii is in idol at the moment.

[QUOTE="OLDGAMER1972"]

I disagree. I have been gaming since the 70's and have never owned a Nintendo console. You can get by.

Gaming since the 70's with no Nintendo? You've been deprived. I hope you at least have emulators on your mac/pc.

The hardcore shouldn't dismiss any console... but they should -also- realize that all three consoles are more than capable of standing on their own. This isn't to say that we can't argue about which is best, but all three now have more than enough games and features to fill anyone's available gaming time.
If you have any of the three consoles, the only reason to get the others is because they have games you want to play that aren't on the console(s) you own. I don't think anyone would argue that Xbox owners don't have enough to play, but (just as an example) they aren't going to be able to play Mario Kart without a Wii.
Now, a year ago this probably wasn't true. But now? If you can't fill your gaming time with quality plays on Wii you just aren't looking - same for PS3. Single console owners don't suffer from a lack of games, only a limitation of choice - as another example, Wii-only owners can't play GTAIV.
So to refer back to my examples, if your gaming itches include both Mario Kart and GTAIV you'll need at least two consoles to scratch them. But if you spend some time outside System Wars you'll find hardcore Wii-only and PS3-only gamers with actual backlogs of games they haven't bought or played due to a lack of time.
