Last week when i got paid from work i drove down to the closest Gamestop and picked up a DS Lite with Pokemon Diamond and Elite Beats Agent.

I had very high hopes for the DS, i really wanted one for a really long time.  When i was much younger i had a GameBoy Color and loved the heck out of it and especially my Pokemon Red game. Few years later i also picked up a GameBoy Advance.

First day with it was great, i spent hours with EBA and loved it. Second day i played alot of Pokemon . . . Third day passed and played some EBA again mixed with Pokemon, 4th barely played and by the 5th i didnt pick it up at all.

Its the 7th day now and i have no drive to play DS whats so ever. I really cant point out one specific thing about why but i think its due to a few reasons. Basically i think the graphics being so basic is my number one reason, now i know graphics dont make the game . .some of my most favorite games are still from my N64 including my fav game of all time Ocorina of time.

It just feels like the graphics havent been improved in all these years, im just tired of it . .sue me.

Second is that the touch screen got old very fast for me, it feels very gimmicky even though i had a great time with EBA. I wouldnt see myself buying another Stylus heavy game in the future if i keep my DS.

Yesterday i started reading up on Psp . .  Ill keep this short as not to seem like  a "falkeboy". Basically it improves on alot of things that i wish DS had. And the biggest drawing point for me is that i am able to use Emulators to play classic GBA, Genesis, N64 games(I know i shoudlnt talk about that here, Ill delete if needed).  Aslo the ability to play mp3s and usea  browser.

Going to probably try and Ebay my DS lite and 2 games as i cant return it back to Gamestop due to there retarded Return policy( NEVER buy from there).

I might post some pics later to prove im not lying . .

Later

p.s ignore the  Wow sig,i dont play that game anymore.

I had a DS as well.  I also became uninterested.  I also got a PSP at launch and it was a bit weak at first, but now there is some good games to play and I am much happier with it than I was with the DS

good luck with those emulators, the only work if you have an old version of GTA LCS or an earlier firmware( you can downgrade to a certain extent, but theres always a chance of bricking it)

He can if that's the only two games he wants.

I, however, am very pleased with the DS. There are so many great games out there. It's great for killing time at work too.

So wait, you tried two games and you didn't like that the graphics didn't change much from what? And why would you use the PSP to emulate games that are illegal?

good luck finding the drive to play your psp all the time with just two games... but hey, they'll look good atleast

i've had a psp since launch basically... didnt get my dses until recently

i really don't play any handhelds lately.. but its usually my ds these days just based on battery life and the games designed for portability in mind(oh and the more compact design).. and the fact that i hate constantly updating the games on my 4gig stick... ive played atleast 80% of the psp games out, not a lot gives it staying power, even with great psx games on there(like xenogears, fft, casltevania), i really still don't play it much

so even if graphics are the most appealing feature to you, you might end up mostly playing PSX games.. which is a step backwards

Sometimes i go a week or two without touching a system, but I've never wanted to get rid of, say my PSP because of it. I do have alot of systems though, and sort of rotate around them playing favourites for a week or so at a time.

Just a warning I dont know if you know but if you want to play the next Dragon Quest game you're going to need it. It also seems like everyone I talk to with a PSP says they never use . They're are going to be so many cool DS games coming out Dont get rid of youre DS IM telling you man you're gonna regret that stuff. Just like me with my 360:(. I stll dont regret selling my PSP though;)

When I went into this thread I going to suggest a game for you but you say that you hate the touch screen.  If that's the case the ds is not for you at all.  Still, maybe try a really stylus-heavy game like zookeeper just to give it another shot.

Pokemon?

Yeah, get the PSP. You'll love the load times, battery life and carrying the PSP around for an MP3 player.

Please just hold on to your DS if you only intend to buy the PSP for piracy. The filthy-ass userbase we already have is more than enough.

It sounds like you're looking for a console experience on a handheld, then the PSP would be the better option.

True, eventually he will see something that he really wants for the DS and then regret selling the console. I felt the same way as the TC did until this months Square-Enix event.

EBA and Pokemon are pseudo 3D, how are you gonna judge the DS graphics based on those 2 games? Either way, if you don't like the touch screen, then no point in having a DS. I personally love the touch screen, it makes peice of crap mini-gmaes that I would never play actually fun and addictive.

You are gonna miss out on a lot of sick games.

If you don't like DS games, get a PSP, it has many great games and lots of great upcoming ones. Also, if you're going to use the homebrew emulators just make sure you OWN the game before you run it on your PSP.

I've had both since they came out but honestly I currently play the DS more.  Just more games suited to my tastes.  The PSP has its share of good titles as well but not many.  I also don't like the fact the PSP battery not only doesn't last long (since it uses minidiscs) but it always needs a charge if you leave it idle for a couple days.
