Oh yeah, cause sony fanboys have NEVER gloated about how their PS1/PS2 outsold the world back in the day.

Yeah, sells matter somewhat in regard to 3rd party support and making sure your company sticks around, but what really matters is how much you enjoy the games and all that crap.

not really.  in the end.  games are the only things that really matter.

but usually.  sales bring great games.  and are a sign that owners are enjoying their console and are hyping it to their friends.

Depends though...

More sales equal more support and possibly better games.

It's kinda like rooting for your favorite sports team.

BTW, i do agree they don't affect us personally, but they still do affect the console we chose to buy.

Its general knowledge that the more console sales the more game support.  So by sheep logic then thats a yes.  PS2 sold 115 million units and look at their massive library.  Compare that to a GameCube and Xbox and there wasnt so much support in comparison.

why should they?

and about the sheep logic thing, last gen sheep were just like "teh sales don't matter" nad now it's like "lolzerz teh ps3 sales suxorz"  WTF?

but still why should sales matter? they never had, and they never should. but then again, what do you mean when you say "does it matter?" do you mean does it matter for the fun of the console? the games? what?
