[QUOTE="skrat_01"][QUOTE="killerfist"] I prefer to sit as far away as possible in my room. Like 3 meter (or 10 feet) for my 32" in my case. Any closer gives me a headache. As for your rant about "consolites bragging about big screens", dunno about that. I never did. I just have my preferences. I hate sitting up close. killerfist
Its a bit of a mix. For instance I have my 32" LCD TV above my 22" Monitor - however as far as using my computer goes, I could not stand using it on the TV, even from a distance at Eye level. I usually sit a couple of meters back - couch / chair or bed for my TV, and right up close for my monitor. Honestly I rather my monitor, as I find it more engaging, however the TV is better for relaxation, and still very enjoyable to use - same with the family 46" Bravia XRB.I guess it all depends on what System you're using on what piece of hardware. I agree tho, I could never use my PC on a TV and sit 3 meters back. Not even with something as simple as internet. (I tried with the Ps3 browser). Can't stand it. lol.
As far as console gaming goes, it's more enjoyable when sitting back with medium to large sized TV's. In my experience anyway. And like FrozenLiquid pointed out, you'll still notice you're playing on a bigger screen. So I don't really get what Frozzik's point is.
My point is simple. The experience of playing a game on a 100" tv from far away is pretty much the same as playing on a 30" close up.Obviously this depends on just how far or close you are. My point was also that if you do have a large screen tv and do indeed sit close you do notice bad textures alot more on the consoles.Someone mentioned you still realise you are playing on a big tv as coffee tables etc give it a sense of scale, thats the most insane thing i have ever heard. What if i have a massive coffee table? or a tiny one for that matter.
Look its just simple law of sight or whatever, when you get further away from an object it looks smaller, then when you get close it looks bigger. So those who have massive TV's will see far worse graphics as there image is stretched out over a larger area, to stop this they move further away. So, i ask, why not just play on a smaller tv and sit closer.
