I'm interested to see what people say, though I doubt I will get honest answers. I often see people try and justify their purcahse of XBL, but when you compare it to what PS+ offers the value of an XBL membership is destroyed.

So would Gold Members like to see "free" games (no additional cost really), massive discounts up to 75%, beta's free avatars and themes ect...? Basically would Gold Members like it if their service ended up offering similar content and savings as PS+?

Also you can't hate on Plus for renting "free" games, XBL is a rental service as well, you rent Halo, COD, and many other games from MS. If you don't pay them the brige toll you can't play your MP portions of your games, which let's be honest, MP is the only thing most 360 exclusives have going for it.

Are Gold Members truly satisfied with the service? Or do they want more for their money? Do they want a better value?

So you pay a fee for better deals than XBL, whereas Steam is free and still has better deals than both?

Would make sense. I personally can't consciously pay for P2P servers when every other company does it for free.

Heck yes the $35 I spent for a year of Gold seems like a waste as it is because I don't play that many online 360 games. It needs something else of value for the price (which is normally $60, I got a deal online).

The only things your actually getting with a Gold Membership is unlocking online play, cross game party chat, and access to Netflix (additional fee required). PSN normal does all of that for free except for cross game chat (which is free on the Vita). PS+ which is optional, saves you money.

But it is a rental service as well (with the free games at least). So really XBL doesn't have any real value when you really look at it. This however requires one to keep an open mind and not have an emotional slant to it, which people in SW cannot do.

They have to justify their purcashe one way or another. Otherwise they are not very happy.

You can see it for yourself here, I always back my claims up with facts. Facts that some will not accept and throw a tantrum about, but when that happens it means it's true.

This has nothing to do with Steam or PC. Why did you bring it up? Of course it has better deals, but sometimes PS+ offers deals that rvials Steam. Steam is better overall as there is no fee involved to get the said deals, but PS+ saves you a HUGE amount of money too.

It would be nice, yeah. There's no denying that that part of PS+ is a great deal that XBOX Live doesn't have.

You mean people actually pay for Gold and PS+? Sony was nice enough to give me a free year for being well, awesome like I am and don't think I've paid for Gold in a while. Why pay for stuff you can get free?

People get xbox live because it's the only way to play online. It's a rip off no doubt, but it's priced well enough that people don't really care.

I think the least they could do is make it set to the number of hours you actually play, not the days you are a Gold Member.

Say for instance you play Skyrim for a month, well you basically just wasted a month of Gold Membership, you wasted money on nothing, so instead why not set to the number of hours you actually play online instead?

So for that month you wouldn't have lost any money on Gold Membership, it would only take time away by playing online. You can save your time by not using it. That seems like it would make more sense and be more fair to the consumer to me.

That would be a great idea, but they'd never give consumers that kind of freedom. It's an all-or-nothing deal and I seriously doubt I'll ever pay for Live Gold again. It's just not worth it to me.

Doing Bing Points and MS rewards(those monthly surveys) you get free MS points so you can get anything off the marketplace for free excluding xbl gold from my knowledge. Anyone can sign up regardless of being gold or silver member.

i know why i pay for xbl. and have never paid more then half price... Thank you. there is something called quality

for example: something that takes me 2-3 days leaving my ps3 on for 5hrs to download vs leaving my 360 on for 30 mins download...

This is why i said i dont mind paying something like 20 bucks on top of blx. BUT i would not pay 50 on top of it...

p.s this isn't a topic nor post where i am going to agrue with someone psn online vs xbl because i cant stand them

Your obviously angry and mad at me because I made you feel insecure about your system. That's your fault bro, not mine. Calling me a stupid fanboy cow doesn't refute any of my points or my orgional post.

If you think XBL has so much value, if your so convinced that it's the better deal than PS+, then why can't you argue a case for it? Do you want XBL to offer more, do you want it to be a better service and value for you, the consumer?

Wether you like it or not, what Sony offers with PS+ totally slaps XBL in the face and consumers can see it, the $60 a year Gold Membership looks like a huge rip off next to PS+. Everyone can see it, even the 360 fanbioys, but they won't admit it.

Your just trying to justify your purchase because your emotional about it. Think objectively, not emotionally.

Except one does not need to be a Gold member to get those updates. Silver members get them too, like I proved, the only thing your paying for with an XBL Gold Membership is 3 things.

1) Online Gaming

2) Cross Game Chat

3) Access to Netflix (additional fee required), Twitter, Facebook ect....

1 and 3 are free on PS3, number 2 is free on Vita as well. Your paying for nothing really.

No i think you're an idiot and stupid cow because you obviously don't read anyones post and you make asinine assumptions as usual. Let's see if you can understand this.....I don't pay for GOLD and I don't even touch my 360. In fact the ONLY game I have on consoles is Dark Souls and that's on PS3. Am I mad? No, just tired of your post and extremely narrowed minded views not to mention how you think what YOU say == fact. NEWS FLASH!!!!! Your OPINONS are NOT fact no matter how many links to OTHER peoples opinions you post. I'm sure you'll dismiss my post as you usually do because logic IS NOT your strong point.

Facts that some will not accept and throw a tantrum about, but when that happens it means it's true.

i know why i pay for xbl. and have never paid more then half price... Thank you. there is something called quality

for example: something that takes me 2-3 days leaving my ps3 on for 5hrs to download vs leaving my 360 on for 30 mins download...

This is why i said i dont mind paying something like 20 bucks on top of blx. BUT i would not pay 50 on top of it...

p.s this isn't a topic nor post where i am going to agrue with someone psn online vs xbl because i cant stand them

Except one does not need to be a Gold member to get those updates. Silver members get them too, like I proved,

thats fine for silver toss on the 50 price tag if they want like psn...

[QUOTE="kingtito"] Enough of your MS bashing threads. Yeah we get it you're a huge cow with no sense or logic. Your threads are tiresome and make SWs extremely boring as hell. I left SWs for a while before because of idiot fanboys such as yourself. Looks like I'm headed that way againkingtito

Am I mad? No, just tired of your post and extremely narrowed minded views not to mention how you think what YOU think == fact. NEWS FLASH!!!!! Your OPINONS are NOT fact no matter how many links to OTHER peoples opinions you post. I'm sure you'll dismiss my post as you usually do because logic IS NOT your strong point.

Ya your mad. Not my problem though, I have a PS3, I never get angry, I chose the right system.

I own all consoles btw. I know what I'm talking about.

no. you are turning your OWN topic to different topic. If you wanna talk about this stuff go make other topic

No? What do you mean no? I proved it. You can't say "no", that's like accusing someone of murder with proof and the defense just yells "no". That's not a defense at all.

Here I'll prove it again:

Xbox Live Features: Gold vs Silver

As that shows, your only getting 3 things with Gold that Silver members do not, these are the things your actually paying for.

1) Online Multiplayer

2) Cross Game Chat

3) Access to Netflix (additional fee required), Twitter, Facebook ect...

Now all those features are free on other networks, PSN does 1 and 3 for free (including 2 as well with the Vita). You can see it right here:

PlayStation NetworkFeatures

Now here is what your getting with PS+

PlayStation Plus Features

There you go it's all laid out for you. XBL takes your money, PS+ saves you money. That's what it boils down to.

Your angry because I told the truth. Xbox is a good system with a good overall library. I don't see why your so upset.

Doing Bing Points and MS rewards(those monthly surveys) you get free MS points so you can get anything off the marketplace for free excluding xbl gold from my knowledge. Anyone can sign up regardless of being gold or silver member.istreakforfood

So in other words, by doing grunt monkey work for MS and using their web site promotion, MS awards you for it? Why not do a better deal? Why not give people free games or points for each ad that is on someone's 360 dashboard? Double points for Gold Members?

Why not just give Gold Members free MS points every month to buy games with? Or just give discounts and free games with Gold membrship? But no instead you have to do work to get those things, PS+ just gives it to you for your money. XBL does not. And the points they give you are a very small joke with a limit.

That doesn't even come close to saving you the amount of money that PS+ gives you.

I have both systems and both plans and despite your condescending tone, yes, I would like XBL to be more like PS+. One thing that XBLA does have over PSN is a trial version to virtually every single game on XBLA. PSN does offer demos, but certainly not for all games. Plenty of games I wanted to try a demo for and PSN didn't have it.

PSN+ offers you "free" games. That's the only good thing about it.

So you pay a fee for better deals than XBL, whereas Steam is free and still has better deals than both?

Klipsh

Yeah the most obvious answer here is PC. If we're talking exclusively consoles, I'd rather just stick with Playstation 3's free model and be done with it. Even with the higher cost of ownership (and believe me, it's a higher investment, hermits arguments notwithstanding) you're getting more and better options on a PC.

But you lose out on exclusives, which depends completely on the tastes and desires of the individual. Steam is a huge motivational factor to me, and as far as I can tell, it pretty much poops on both PS+ and Xboxlive. But you pay for the privilege with hardware so it's dependent upon what you want and what you can afford.

It would be nice if we can get some of the older XBL Arcade games for free but I'm not losing any sleep over it. Had gold since Halo 2 and it's just habit now to renew my gold every year. Had PSN+ for 3 free months and never renew it because I didn't have time to play all the free games.

Do people want more things and games and movies and content for no extra cost to something they already pay for?

That's like asking if I'd like my $50 internet service plan to come with supermodels to massage me as I surf the internet at no extra cost.

People get xbox live because it's the only way to play online. It's a rip off no doubt, but it's priced well enough that people don't really care.

its not just playing online, microsoft actually has most of the services for online gaming already built into the kernel, xbox live really helps developers more than it helps users because M$ makes the online features then maintains them. The good part about this system is all the games on xbox share the same features the OS provides, so when the kernel is updated all games are updated with the newer services. We just get an online thats more consistent. I think its worth the $50/year...

PlayStation Plus is amazing. I never thought that I would buy so many games of PSN; but I did because of the amazing discounts that you get. If you subscribe for a year then you already got your money's worth in the first month.
