i mean the cars look nice but Nikko and other ppl's faces look like they were painted. i wish the buildings looked more realistic in the night.

Well to be fair there is a lot of city and other things to be processed and rendered. Usually people forget stuff like that in the little graphics showdown threads we see here.
They look "good", but they are extremely blurry. To hide the flaws it seems as they covered everything with Vaseline then sprinkled sand over it. SAGE_OF_FIREThey improved it in TBOGT. :)
It was always the scope and draw distance of GTAIV that impressed me.
Have you ever flown over the city in a sunset? Very beautiful.
GTAIV graphics is a strange area... They are pushing the hardware to the limit with awesome detail, but are also low resolution and you wouldn't say their flashy.
The GTA games have never been graphics kings or anything, but GTAIV hasn't aged well at all. aaronmullanI would agree... but I havent really seen alot of open world games with the draw distance that GTA has.
and the pop in isn't really bad. VendettaRed07Well, I have to disagree with that. It can be incredibly bad at times. Not nearly as bad as SR2, but bad none the less.

SAGE_OF_FIREThat's actually a very good way of explaining it. But i still think Rockstar did a wonderful job on it. And the city is so detailed and alive feeling.

Yup, think GTA3's blur without the option to turn it off.
Most of the graphics this gen look bland. To quote Yahtzee "It looks like I'm viewing it from a used coffee filter"
Their are different artifacts for both the PS3 and Xbox versions. PS3 is more blury compared to the xbox which is more grainy, from what I've seen.
I agree, TC.
I didn't go into GTA IV expecting the best looking game of the gen, but the grainy look of the game, combined with the very muted tones disappointed me somewhat. And as time has passed, I think the visuals have aged poorly.
I'll be expecting a lot of improvements from the content side of the next GTA if they intend no major improvements to the engine.
They're incredible for the scale and the limited memory it has to work with on consoles.
It's not a great looking game, but it's decent, and for the kind of game it is, that's incredible.

Yes but the SR2 graphics are really outdated compare to GTA4...
