I'm wondering about this because I have seen about the same 10 screenshots in every topic. Why do you guys do this? Is there like some infatuation with crysis where you have to post the same thing over and over again as if it looks like that on your computer at 30 fps. Because every shot I see isn't from high but very high with 8X AA which running on my computer would probably be 5 fps. I could barely manage High with 2XAA on a geforce 8800 4 gb of ram which runs at a 20-30 fps. So I'm just wondering when will you guys start not taking screenshots from other people computer and start using the print screen to show what it looks like on your computer

Crysis on high (which gives me the best graphics)

(Crysis on very high)

Crysis on medium.

Lol, TC is funny because they do not know about the GTX 200 series or the ATI 5000 series. 8800 is really old school man.

I run it on window mode because it makes it lower resoloution so I could have a higher framerate :D.

I have a 120Gb hard drive filled with KZ2, MGS4, GeoW, and Uncharted 2 screens. Isn't that typical on SW?

It's like writing a several paragraph counter argument then saving it for later use, someone is bound to make that ridiculous argument again; so you might as well save the time.

I do have a Crysis folder but they're my own shots.

I can assure you that many of the Crysis shots you find on the net are bullshots if played on anything realistic or at least well above a rig like mine (I7920, 285GTX).

Besides, he's still playing it on high. So that was a pretty foolish thing to say. Does he need to upgrade his computer? Even after 2 years?

Ok, every two years. That is still at least double the console turn over rate, when hermits push the idea that rigs 4 years old are fine to combat the idea that PC gaming needs upgrades to stay current.

I was just messing around, but really a 2 year old GPU that was top of the line is in no way out of date, and you condescending to him for owning one is a bit much.

Yeah.. because he's acting foolish. He's playing the game on high and complaining about what screenshots people are using on forums. What's the point? Sounds like a waste of time. And on that note, I'm off to bed.

I'm complaining because they look nothing like the game on my computer. And my computer isn't that horrible in which the difference would be that dramatic.

Pressing F12 automatically saves your screen

to "...documents/my games/Crysis/Screenshots" So to answer the thread eveyone who've pressed that key has their own folder for crysis. Also playing in Windowed mode isn't to far off from full-screen depending on the resolution or whats going on-screen.

Ah your GPU isnt that much better than the 8800GTX as you would think...

The GPU industry has been quite slow ever since the 8800 came out. There still hasnt been that huge leap since the 8800...

It's bad for the technological progress but good for those who want to make their PC last longer and want to continue to play in maxed settings.

And btw it was the best 3 years ago and it still plays every game in high settings. That's something which NEVER happened before in the computer world but it has happened this time.

No, most Crysis shots aren't bullshots, almost all of them are real. The thing is, a lot of them use mods or TOD tweaks, but there's nothing wrong with that.

I stopped saving screenshots of games for arguments years ago.

Today games really can't be judged upon screenshots, you need to see them in motion.

I was just going to post about that. My game runs nearly identical to those so called bullshots. With CCC2.1 installed, a Time of Day mod, and a massive 2GB texture update, we've already "surpassed" the intended settings put forth by the developer. We've already maxed out "stock Crysis", thats old news.

Cryengine 2 is the most tweakable engine I've ever played with. There are essentially "no limits" and Crysis is only going to keep looking better as community support grows.

No folder but I put some up on Flickr, I don't see the point in having someone elses screenshots, I always use my own taken the way I play it. In the case of Crysis it's on High settings (CCC lvl4).

I don't usually keep the framecounter visible but I get average of 30 at 1680x1050, sometimes more sometimes less, it was always very playable though. Here are some. Taken on E2200, 4850, 2Gb, XP.

I have a set of folders for screenshots of different games, Crysis included, so I can easily look at the difference between certain games visual quality.

First of all, TC, you're using DX10, which has crippling performance losses with Crysis. Second of all, you're using 2xAA, which is really not warranted on a game as demanding as Crysis. You could improve your framerate dramatically by playing on an XP machine with DirectX9 and playing without anti-aliasing, so your 20-30 FPS figure really isn't valid as far as that is concerned.

TC download mods like CCC or Natural mod to see the real crysis. The funny thing is the game will look better and run better also.

[QUOTE="nhh18"]

[QUOTE="DragonfireXZ95"]Lol, TC is funny because they do not know about the GTX 200 series or the ATI 5000 series. 8800 is really old school man.jerkface96

You mean 2 years old? I upgraded 8800 GFX 756 mb 2 years ago when it was the best gpu. Now I know there are better but the fact is this was the best 2 years ago.

thats why i like consoles, at least i get to wait a few years before my console becomes completely obsolete.

in the case of the 8800gtx its outdated but certainly not obsolete and will likely last him another 2 years if hes comfortable with how games run for him currently. He could proably make it last even longer but by that point a $100 graphics card will beat out the 8800gtx by a huge amount.
