[QUOTE="Magical_Guy"][QUOTE="Eltroz"][QUOTE="Magical_Guy"][QUOTE="Eltroz"] If BC is not important then why are all the most hyped PS3 games sequels to PS2 games. MGS 4, FF13, GT5, RnC, and all the others. Cows seemed to love those games so much on PS2 that they consider the sequels to be the best upcomming games on PS3. So why would the general fans not want to be able to play them anymore?
face it then BC is not needed is just damage control. I still enjoy last gen games on the 360. Justbecause then gen changed did not make those last gen games any less great.

they can still play them on the PS2. PS2's didn't vanish into thin air when the PS3 was released
There is no reason at all the user has to have two consoles from the same maker to be hooked up to the same TV. If these were games from different makers like Sony AND MS then that would be different. But the user has to have a PS2 and a PS3 hooked up to same TV to play both gens. That is just a dumb move on Sony's part.since when do you have to have both consoles hooked up at once or on the same tv. last time I checked you could unplug a console from the tv and hook another one up. not hard to do.
Fine every time you want to play a PS2 game you have to unhook your PS3 console and then hook up your PS2 console. Next day want to play a PS3 game and then have to unhook your PS2 and then hook up your PS3. That is one way OR sony could have done something smart and just keep the BC. This is going to hurt 40gb sales. You take the console with the largest amount of games, most diverse libary, most AAA. Then you make it not able to run on the next gen console. Heck 80gb only has about 50% BC. The 60gb and 20gb models were good with BC but they discontinued those.Dude, I have a Dreamcast, GC, Stereo, ps2, and a ps3 in my TV at the same time. The other one has a Direct TV reciever, a DVD player, a GC, and a ps2 hooked into it. The other one, (the 15 incher) has a Direct TV reciever and a DVD player in it. They're called multiple video inputs, welcome to the 21st cenury.
