Do people demand Call of Duty copies?

Looking at the CoD series sales, I think people actually demand more such games. And where there is demand there will by supply and the negative effects of this may be the fabled "Call of Dutyfication" of FPS games.

This is nothing new, though. In the last gen every action game wanted to be like GTA.

The thing that bugs me is just that the popularity of the CoD franchise is exponentially increasing.

With the lack of improvements in the COD franchise, they think that a demand is growing for a COD experience with some more refreshing things.
So the other FPS franchises close the gap with COD, to try and be 'the next COD'.

I think they're wrong. The people like COD as it is. Maybe they want new maps, and apart from that I don't think they care much. Otherwise it wouldn't be such a success so many times in a row. The other franchises won't be COD enough, or will be too much like COD. There's no real middle path.

Except it doesn't have a single-player and looks quite dated today. Unless you mean the one that's yet to be released.

I like Black Ops and all, but that's just because the last CoD game I liked and played a lot was CoD4. Do people ever get bored of the yearly CoD games? If MW3 sells even more than Black Ops, then I'm just going to be speechless, hopefully Battlefield 3 changes this because if there was any modern shooter that had the potential to beat out CoD in sales, it's Battlefield IMO.

If the name of Battlefield 3 was change to Call of Duty: Battlefield then it would sell a lot more. The fact is that COD is popular with a whole generation that has never been exposed to Battlefield.

Hopefully it will stop soon. it seems more and more people are seeing that CoD is an okay shooter with too many installments.

COD4 is still my favorite, I want something better than it... I dont want clones of COD games, I just want something thats better than COD4. Blackops was good and fun, but its no COD4.

Great amazing game=people play it and talk about it which=more people playing. Red Orchestra=game that is rarely mentioned which=not alot of people play it which=not a great amazing game. simple logic.

The majority of people that dont like cod or play it do so because of reasons outside of the quality of the game usually they wan't to be different..etc

Red Orchestra is talked a lot, just because you don't talk about it doesn't mean the whole world follows you.
