you are overly optimistic... the 360s install base is still higher, and those owners all have similiar interest... 1 being halo. A large majority of Wii owners bough the game soley for wiisports and that sort of experience and could really care less about metroid... obviously MP3 has no chance of outselling halo 3.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Same thing happened with Zelda:TP, as soon as I found out it didn't have online I lost interest in it. :(

I think that Metroid Prime 3 can compete with Halo 3 in the long run. Initial sales will definitely favour Halo 3.

I have said all along that Super Smash Bros Brawl will sell well. In fact most people felt it necessary to argue with the magnitude of the sales phenomenon that I predict for it.

I also predicted high sales for both the Wii and DS, while predicting no such thing for the Gamecube. I'm pretty good when it comes to making predictions, although I do like to make audacious comparison threads from time to time. Especially between PS3 and Wii games.:P

One thing that I have been wrong on was that I was among those who predicted AAA for Zelda: TP and Metroid Prime Hunters, and they both ended up being high AA.

Sales - Possible. - you never know. Everyone's 360 could explode the day before emergence day and MS get taken over by Apple and EA causing the 360 to be discontinued at the same time as no userbase exists :cry:.

Uh, I don't think anyone believes that mp3 with outsell halo3. Halo wins by default because its a casual magnet and has a bigger fanbase. Why are you even comparing these two games? They may both be frist person shooters, but you can jump in mario 64 and in hitman 3 + they are 3rd person, would you compare them?

In sales, probably not, but it should do well, IGN deemed it the definitive console FPS for controls.

Haveyou played MP, its amazing, and you could argue that XBOX has better graphics than Gcube, which is true, but metroid prime sure looks a helluva lot prettier than halo

Well, Metroid Prime already did way better than Halo on more than 1 gaming website across the internet, and it didn't have multiplayer nor was it trying to outdo Halo. It just, did...

Sale, can't argue there, but sales aren't a representation of a game's overall quality, tho Halo did rock!.

Halo 2 & Echoes both sucked to the same degree(maybe more Echoes to me)IMO, and both scored near each other.

I'm hyped for Halos third game, but I hope it's not just the same ol game, but onlyin 1080p that they would call it Halo 3. I would hope there's something innovating about the gameplay and/or the story. On the other hand, Metroid Prime 3 is being praised by many websites other then just IGN's sheep, Matt C., and for that reason of what I read on various website and see on the videos, do I think that history shall repeat itself again in the quality of the game.

I have no doubt Halo 3's sales will be astounding, however from the last two of each game that I've played, I think Metroid Prime 3, will be an unforgettable experience above the rest, again.

MP3 will own halo 3 in every aspect of the word "quality".

but in terms of sales, it's pretty predictable who will win.
i'll just have my fun with both titles. :)

In terms of sales, if anything is going to beat or come close to beating Halo 3 its going to be SSBB not MP3(Prime was never a big seller). In terms of quality, well graphicly Halo 3 wins(duh) but in terms of story and gameplay my guess is that Mp3 will be better
