Well of course it will eventually improve both of those to a certain extent. But so much that it will overtake the Wii and 360? Highly doubtful. It's going to end up being too little too late, and they'll end up with a bronze medal.

Nintnedo can't meet demand and they're being hailed as a great success. Not meeting demand is a danm lot better then just having product sitting on shelves collecting dust month to month.

64 should have done alot better according to your logic. Wii should have flopped according to your logic since GC was such a failure.

600 bucks is to much for that many people to buy. You think that 100 million was all hardcore. try maybe 20 million tops were hardcore gamers. the rest were casuals.

360 has a price drop coming. and Halo 3 and GTA 4 on the same system that is cheaper than the PS3. Wii is selling without its only big gun being Zelda and Papermario. What happens when Smash, Mario Galaxy, and Metroid Prime 3 get here. the sales get even better. the sales in japan also grow. Japanese devs switch focus to Wii a lot more.

And so on. PS3 will still be atleast 500 bucks by the end of this year. thats not enough of a price drop to matter. PS3 will be playing from behind into late 08 and early 09 before it starts outselling the other 2 in monthly sales consistantly.

This should pretty much shut down the thread. Not only this, but the game content for the PS3 is piss poor and it seems to be losing whole games as of late. Devs just aren't willing to take the time or money to make games on the system, when it cost less time and money to make games on the Wii and 360, plus they know their games will actually sell on those systems.

Dude do you really know the true numbers.

SNES had around 49 million for its fanbase beating Genesis by around 15 million or so.

N64 had around 40 million for its fanbase by the end so Nintendo didnt lose much of its fanbase at all, its Just that Sony appealed to a more adult audience that didnt get into gaming and brought this new gaming audience to the field and made a huge amount of money off of them.

It's apparent to everyone but cows that the PS3 is going to lose a ton of marketshare the PS2 enjoyed. At its currnet sales rate, the PS3 will struggle to selll 60Million units before the PS4 is out.

This is the gen Sony's dominance ends.

just because the ps1 and ps2 sold 100 million each does not mean the ps3 will follow suit at all

nintendo has gone for the appeal to everyone tactic/strategy which is defo paying off and will no doubt bring rewards of a bigger fanbase and more support from publishers.

at nintendos current pace they could be up there with 100 million in 8 years as well
