Do you believe Sony and MS about no next gen talk at E3 2012?

Are they really going to play the waiting game with Nintendo or do you think they're both FOS? I haven't really been genuinely surprised at anything E3 wise since Nintendo announced Metroid OM back in 09 -- so would like to see something unexpected this time around.

I highly doubt either will show any next-gen stuff, it would stifle sales of their current gen systems if they did. MS may pull out that rumored half-360 media center (codenamed loop) for everybody to point and laugh at, but that's about it.

I dont know what to believe. But since in the past, everytime SONY try to keep something a secret, it gets exposed months in advance, yet we havent had any leaks so far...

lol I can understand if Sony didn't show anything I guess. They at least still have TGS if that's even still going on -- but like I just don't see MS waiting it out. Especially with all the criticism from they received from the last two E3's. I think they will show it towards the end of the conference to get people talking(specs and all that jazz) and then go into it next time full throttle.

For the most part, yes. You may see some reference, perhaps some teaser shot of what "the future holds" for both systems, but I seriously doubt you will see any tech demos, specs, or anything of substance. Its going to be games, entertainment options, and perhaps price cuts to the existing systems, with maybe the 360 announcing this xbox lite option.

Would be cool to see it but my guess is next E3 will be intense.

We're less than two months away, and to be honest I can't believe that neither Sony or Microsoft will show something off.

agreed. Actually I think both Sony and MS may try to launch budget models of their current-gen to put the squeeze on Nintendo's WiiU in the run up to Xmas, but nothing substantial.

Sony will want to put the focus on drumming up some exitement for the Vita, so ealy PS4 news would distract from that. I don't see what's stopping MS though.

I think both companies could be ready to roll sooner than we think. They may each be trying to bluff the other into thinking they're not. They'll want to hold back long enough that they can offer something noticably, demonstrably better than the WiiU, but not long enough for the other to get a head start.

MS & Sony would be quite foolish to allow Nintendo to steal the show with new hardware. MS definitely can't afford to be out-done at E3 AGAIN.

Probably. At least one of them will think they're capable of pulling off an Apple-type (or Sega type, for that matter) launch.

I don't think either of them are in a position right now where they would benefit from announcing just yet.

The 360 is doing fine with Kinect so far from a sales standpoint, and I'd imagine Microsoft will milk that for all its worth. Sony's got some shifting around at the top, the Vita and the handheld market to handle, and some not so flattering financial numbers by their standards(or well any big companies standards). If anything I'd bank on them trying to focus more on Vita this year, get as much out of PS3 as they can still, and focus on the PS4 maybe next year. That said never say never. So no I don't completely buy that both companies will go to E3 and not show something.

Wont happen till they are ready, and have games to show for the systems.... You dont want another fiasco like the Wii U at last years E3. Plus the 360 and PS3 are selling great for being close to 6 and 7 years old. No way MS would even mention a next gen system at E3. Do expect an xbox lite though.

Considering rumors and talk and Nintendo taking the lead next gen, we can all assume they're going to at least say they've started work on next gen consoles and tell us to wait until next E3.

Microsoft officially said that it wont be giving any talks about the next gen.

Sony, I dunno. MS... Believe.... They are gonna rock Nintendo's world when Wii U launches and MS drastically drops the price of 360's & Kinects and especially the Halo 4 bundled 360's !!Then continue to drop pricing through next year as well, it's gonna be one really inexpensive system to own and almost too good to pass up - Nintendo am :cry: me thinks.Or.... Eh who knows....MS said they want to keep their focus on Kinect this year and that's it, but there is a possible chance for them to talk about the next gen stuff, mabey even show it? They are competing with the Wii directly by having Kinect, and the Wii U will look better than it so they have to step their game up so to speak.

Sony will keep showing off new exclusives and Vita stuff, I doubt they are going to talk about next gen at all.

Sony I do, but Microsoft I don't. Though I don't think Microsoft will reveal too much. Just enough to get our interest and have everyone guessing. I do feel both will release new system fall 2013.

They'll probably talk about the futures of XBL and PSN and hint at future projects, but I doubt we'll be seeing any hardware.

i'm still hoping for a nextbox 2012 launch.

it will probably not happen with the 360 selling so well but man... seven years is just way too long for a gen to go on.

and if we don't see the nextbox until fall 2013 that will be eight freaking years on one console.... wtf?
