THeres no games. The games coming out arent even known to be any good. they could all suck for all we know. When, (if ever) will be a good time to gamble on the PS3? Would it be a bad idea to gamble on this syestem. Its a rather expensive bet.

Yeah theres nothing out worth playing, and Cows will tell you to keep waiting forever...
Just spend that money on some quality games that are out now.
Definatly a gamble I wouldn't be bashing it right now if it wasn't... Once it's not a gamble I will pick one up, but at it's price point BluRay willhave to win the HD war, and the PS3 will have to have 10 AAA titles under it's belt...XYZVector
Link?
The gamble is whether you're banking on the chance that Sony will drop the price on E3.NobuoMusicMaker
Agreed. I would definitely wait until August, since most analysts agree that there will be a price drop.

Odd. I have a PS3 and have been playing the hell out of NBA 2k7 and MLB 2k7 for the past couple of weeks.

You can play those on the 360, why would he buy a PS3 for those games...

Yes, because that's only possible with games releasing on the PS3

Its possible with all systems, however the 360 allready has a lot of great games, a lot of AAA's right now.

....what?!
You're making a post about how the PS3 is a gamble, and use something that applies to all consoles as proof? So why do you single out the PS3?
All consoles are a gamble. You're just too blind to see that.

No the 360 has great games now. Many AAA's, most of which are exclusive. Future games may be a gamble, but you are not gambling buying one right now because theres a lot of great games to play.

Then the 360 is less of a gamble, but still a gamble.

Every time you update your 360 it's a gamble.

So a game must be exclusive for it to be considered "good"?

Did I say anything to sngle ou the PS3? If I made the same topic about the 360, i would probaly have said the same thing. Please dont twist my words to make you prove your point.

Yes.
"Do you believe that buying a PS3 now is a high risk gamble?"
You singled out the PS3, and made no mention of any other console.

Like I said in the post I just made, It can be said about all consoles. Even a game like Halo, you will not know if its good until there are reviews and you play it.

Yeah when your system costs $200 more, theres gotta be exclusives that would make me want to buy a PS3. Why would anyone choose one when I can get a lot of exclusive AAA titles on the 360 for hundreds less?

They may just prefer the system or the controller layout. I have a friend who is buying a PS3 for NCAA Football even though it's also on the 360. In his opinion, he's played the game for so many years and gotten used to the button layout that he doesn't want to deal with changing. To him that's worth $200. Probably wouldn't be to you or I, but it was to him. I bought both systems so I really couldn't say why people prefer each.
If you have the money and already own the other current gen systems, why not give it a try?wklzip
Why buy a 600$ system when most games will be multi-platform anyways? Ofcourse sony will have some major exclusives that will be awesome but they keep getting delayed. Just read lair is getting pushed back, nobody knows when mgs4 will be out, and final fantasy is still quite a ways off from everything Ive read. I'm not buying for another year just to see how everything pans out. If you have a wii and a 360 you'll be plenty occupied in the mean time. I think the ps3's fate is still a little sketchy!!

it all depends, if you're a gamer who's also looking for an hd disc format, ps3 is definitely worth it, problem is there aren't too many people out there like that, most people dont even know what blu-ray is or how it differs from standard dvd, I tried to explain it to my non-gamer friends and they were all lost :)It atleast has Flow, Virtua Fighter, MKII, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Def Jam Icon Fight Night 3 there is plenty more punch on it than people realize

Why? It has no history of hardware failure, so at least your money won't disappear on you.
Plus, there are like 10 Super AAA proven franchises releasing exclusively on the PS3. I don't understand the point of speculating or wavering on the purchase unless there's something better to throw your money away on.

If HD-DVD WINS OUT then what good is your blue-ray player in your ps3. I'm not saying hd-dvd will win just know one knows what's going on there. I think sony took some gambles on the ps3 for sure and their gambles are the consumer's gambles. If it pays off then sony will reap major bennies. If it doesn't alot of people will be screwed. I don't think wii or the 360 gambled as much on their consoles therefor less of a gamble for the consumers(as long as m$ can fix this overheating debacle!!!).
