I don't bother tbh, the only time I read one this gen was for Mass Effect to get a better background. For most games I can check the controls in game to save time.

I use too. There once was a time when instead of an unskippable 5 hour in-game tutorial, you could get right into the game, and if you needed to know how to play, could then go to the manual.

I never do. I don't see the point, I'll just figure them out in game, the only game I iwhs I'd had a manual fore (I rented so I didn't have it) was Sniper Elite, I had it a week and never figured out how to throw grenades...I pressed R1 to bring up the grenade line that shows how far it'll go then I tried EVERY button on the pad to try and throw it and none worked...

Sure do. Sometimes you gather story bits from the manuals, sometimes there are helpful tips, and sometimes there are controls or things that are not mentioned in game.

My friend does the same thing. When I bought Titanquest off of him he said he would go get the manual for me and I simply said keep it.

I have great news, guys! There actually IS an off-topic forums for posts like this. Now those who make threads like yours can stop cluttering this boards with non-system wars related posts.farrell2k

You don't say...you do realise that off topic is where you post about issues other than games? Would you rather me post something original like how the 360 has RROD or the PS3 has a lack of AAAEs?

I remember the time where you could get right into a game, but I don't ever remember a time where there was a five hour tutorial.

I read them on the way home from the Store and I like reading them other times because I hate Tutorials in games so I read the instruction manuals to learn the controls.

Also take notes that helps you with your own strategy as well.
