Handheld generations don't necessarily coincide with console generations.

But I can agree it is quite possibly the greatest handheld to date.

In that respect it is, but PSP is probably closer just based on the fact they share the PS name and are mad by Sony.

Probably, but it still lacks in the survival horror and adventure games department. Metal gear 2 and 3 plus silent hill 2 and 3... Plus the thousands of other ps2 games set it apart as the best system ever. But i agree the ds does own in the handheld department

No, I actually like the DS. That, and I had more fun with the GB and GBA.

Yes, the DS is definitely the PS2 of handhelds. It has the same sheer expansive library that the PS2 did, and it seems to be about just as hardy and resilient.

That's like saying Gays/Lesbians and Bisexuals are almost the same thing just because they can have same sex relationships.

Nope, I consider the DS to be the N64 of the handhelds, PSP is the PS2 of the handhelds.

For me, yes indeed. The PS2 is my favorite home console, and the DS is my favorite handheld console (and favorite system of this generation).

Handhelds infact *are* consoles. Just that they're portable and don't need any external power resource or screen.

DS is actually weaker than N64. DSi may be stronger but no games showcased the extra power it had.

well DS sold more than the PS2 in much less time, especially in the 3 major markets. So the PS2 was the DS of consoles.Thats right.

PS2 was mostly boring to me, but in terms of sales and number of games, then yeah, I guess I can see a parallel. Love the DS. My favorite system this gen.

The DS was the greatest handheld of all time.

Let's hope the 3DS follows in its footsteps.

horror is not really that scary on a 4 intch screen. But the ds did have some horror games. It had RE and the ward :)

I've always preferred my PSP over the DS by a large margin. Other than my little brother's Pokemon games, nothing else interested me on it. However, I can't deny that the DS is full of quality titles for fans of the handheld.

Yes, I mean look at the Sales of the DS and compare them to the 3DS, obviously a spitting image of the PS2 and PS3.

I wouldn't doubt that the DSlite will still be selling 3 years after the 3DS has been released.

They don't suck because YOU don't like them.
