I can probably own any of you in GTA, Halo online , and all of you can own me in any other online FPS as COD, mmorpgs, souls pvp games, PubG as i dont play them online much nor i consider myself not good at all in them lol.

I consider myself very good at GTA games be it single player or multiplayer as i used to play GTA games non stop for years after years and still addicted to Halo mp. And i platinum, unlock all unlockables in most of my single player games.

Do you consider yourself a good gamer?

Well?

I'm good enough that I can finish the games I want. I'm better at some games than others, but I'm sure there are many more who are better than me. I've helped people get past tough spots in games before, but I'm not going to win any competitions.

low/average

Fairly casual now, can't be doing 8-12 hours anymore or hundreds in fighting games.

Good, as in capable? Meh, I'm alright. I'm pretty casual about things though so I don't really build up the "elite skills" many have.

Then again I tend to play a lot of city- and factory-building games, things a lot of folks on here don't play, and I plan my shit out and spend a lot of time with efficiency and laying out my city so it doesn't use cars too much or what have you. That takes a certain amount of skill and such.

I'd say my strength as a "gamer" (not even sure I like being called that...) lies in my appreciation for games, open-mindedness, and relatively long history of gaming.

If we're talking about pvp then yes, I'm quite good in almost every genre with the exception of sports, driving included, and fighting games, in this one i'm average at best, but it really makes my blood pump like few genres; as for single player games, i suppose so, i don't have problems with practically any games, to this date, i can count the number of games i needed some kind of help with the fingers of a hand, the only one that comes to my mind, was the original silent hill with that piano puzzle.

Don't even think it's overconfidence noting I'm generally considered very good at games, well games I take an interest in anyway. If I'm bored generally bow-out.

My win ratio for multiplayer is usually in the 80% bracket for competitive games, got 100% on quite a few 10/10 difficulty achievement lists. & generally do what a lot of people call 'brutally challenging' in games for idle fun.

@indy_2024:

What multiplayer games you excel at

Use to play a lot of Tekken in the arcade, Bloodline Rebellion player. TTT2 was my go-to for many years; holding a solid 87% win ratio with over 3,000 matches in ranked.

Halo 3 for a few years was amazing, along with the usuals of the time: Unreal 04, Quake Live (got 300hours in Quake Champions), Team Fortress 2.

More recent stuff being: PUBG, Tetris 99, Splatoon 2/ didn't really get invested in Splatoon 3. PvP in all the From Software Soul games is pretty frequent.

Street Fighter 6 is my most recent. Just cleaned up getting 100%; people don't like doing the tournaments in that game. But they're pretty chill honestly. Mostly play as Honda, Juri, and Mai.

I'm usually teaming up in Monster Hunter as well, and usually a favorite going into a hunt, because I know my shit. When you're teamed with someone who solos Fatalis for kicks, you're in good hands ツ

Not really; I'm average. I give up easily, so it's more of a problem with willpower than a problem of a lack of skill. I need to get better at controlling my anger when a game is kicking my ass.

Nope, there are but a few genres I'm good at like FPS or RTS games.

But everything else like say RPGs I will scale from easy to hard, depending on my mood.

I'm more of a completionist than someone who will try to do their best so I can go up against very tough bosses.

And either a game clicks for me or it doesnt.

I'm average. I don't play competitive games with exception to Dota 2 about 10-8 years ago or Apex around 3 years ago playing with friends.

I am good in soulsborne game though its my stress reliever. I think difficulty in souls is overrated its only hard to players unable to memorize patterns probably. Platinumed everything on PS4/PS5 except Elden Ring I havent had the chance to sit down with it and wont play it likely until next year as I am going to fking platinum MH Wilds before the crown events drop, its tradition at this point. Edit - elden ring, lies of p and lords of the fallen. I havent been keeping up with souls recently due to jrpg backlog.

I rarely play MP games these days besides Halo Infinite and sometimes Marvel Rivals. And even when I do play them, it's always on the weekends but everything else for me is just SP gaming mainly on weekdays.

Suppose. Experienced is a better word. I have a good grip on many genres, many games throughout the years. Just something I notice when I play with other people. Was playing Gears with a (back then) newly acquired friend of mine. And he's more into rpgs/japanese with no gameplay games. It took that dude a while to figure out the whole "take cover pop out engage" type deal this game asked.

He loved chainsawing the locusts, though. Any person with a good soul in them does.

Binoculars in Wilds shows if a monster is a crown or not. I got eleven crowns in the Beta alone. Due to how quest refreshing works as well it's quicker and easier to reset than it ever has been.

Getting crowns will be easier than it ever has in its series history.

I'm pretty good. I'm the best at videogames among my friends and family, can beat everyone at pretty much anything. In competitive online games (mostly FPS), I usually do alright. Say 60-70% win rate.

I think I used to be certainly above average. but I can't spend as much time on MP games in the genres I was once good at (FPS and RTS) due to wrist issues that impact my ability to use a mouse for a long time with the precise actions needed to aim, do RTS stuff.

The only game I can seemingly do well in is Chivalry 2 still for some reason.

I use a controller a lot more now, and I'm probably average to below average with a controller.

So at this point, I'm average skill wise, but have played enough games in different genres that I know how to approach a lot of different types of games in ways that will negate their difficulty.

I've had pockets of time where I was so locked into some games I made my way up the global leader boards... I was top ten in several global boards for Ollie Ollie and Super Meat Boy levels for a while... I also complete most games I play so I always felt fairly accomplished having defeated hundreds of games over my life..

But am I good? I dunno... Im not bad, but I definitely don't engage a lot with games that have leader boards so tough to really say.

My most Alpha moment came on the 2600 when I was like 7yo.... I scored so high on pitfall my mother took a pic and sent it to Activision.... They sent me this patch which blew my mind. I think i had scored like a million points. I remember playing it for hours.

Actual people.

Although I beat last boss on Lies of P, and I thought that was challenging even for a souls boss.

Probably below average compared to most but I’m a better gamer now than I was years back. Some say gaming has gotten harder as the years progressed but I disagree with that.

Havent been keeping up with news or touched new beta releases other than the first one for 3 missions, I am relatively in the dark about the game... planning to play it fresh discovering everything in game... Hope the loop is better than Rise, that game loop was awful.

just shows you don't need to be good at games to beat elden ring ;)

it was a bit of a shame what they did with radahn in the base game. on release he was epic. very tough but really rewarding. i came back and replayed about a year later and steam rolled him in one try. he was a shadow of his former self. felt they went a bit too far with the nerf.

consort radahn i haven't tried post nerf, but he 100% needed it. the difficulty spike against him vs any other late game dlc boss including bayle and midra was very high. to see him return as the final boss was a bit disappointing in and of itself anyway tbh. left a bit of a sour taste overall in what was otherwise a really good dlc

I miss the top matches in CSGO when my reflexes were still good
