Do you enjoy SW flops?

I'm always told that it's somehow wrong to enjoy when a game flops, but I can't help it.It has nothing to do with wanting a game to fail, but everything to do with how freaking funny this place gets when a game flops. I don't really care what games score, so I just find it entertaining to watch the fireworks here.Themore hyped the game, the better. I just really find entertainment value in people losing it because of some guy's opinion. Because that's really a review score is. It might be a well-explained opinion, but it is still an opinion.

I'm hoping atleast one big exclusive flops hard this holiday season.Multi-platform flops don't provide the same kind of entertainment factor that exclusive flops do.

So do you think I'm immoral for having these fiendish desires?

The thing is, I don't see how flops screw anybody since review scores are just an opinion. That's why I think they are so funny. People take the flops to heart when they shouldn't.

Nah, it's all good. I think TP getting 8.8 on Wii, and then later getting 8.9 on GC was the funniest of them all.

Yeah 'cause i see a lot of silly damage control, althought when a game i have high hopes for flops....well that's not so good for me, but still watching fanboys cheers me up :P

I enjoy the fanboys' reactions to flops more than anything. Game A gets 8.5... opposing fanboys laugh to high heavens... supporters bring up gameranking scores/whatever...

And of course if a game doesn't flop, fanboys can always make fun of sales, or if the games sold billions... they can just act all high and mighty about how a particular SNES game is still miles better than it, or pick a review from some unknown website and post it as the gospel. Or alternatively, list everything yahtzee says and then ignore what he says when he reviews a game for your system.

So yeah. Flops can make things oddly interesting. :)

If it's a game or series that I detest or just have no interest in, then YES.... the rest of the time, NO!

I was thinking more along the line of games that everyone had high expectations of that turned out bad, a more direct definition of flop rather than the SW definition. By that definition when a games flops it sucks for me, since the game that was supposed to be good turned out to suck (examples: Lair, Too Human)

anyway i play any game that interest me, i don't think i've played a game rated lower than 4 or maybe even 5, but that's just coincidence that the games look bad rather than i don't look at games that get 5 or below.

I loved too human and quite liked two worlds :) flops don't really bother me on SW if i'm interested in the game

flops do get funnier the more they were hyped, so one could argue this year or next may be the funniest year for SW since some games are hyped to hell, hades and the underwolrd and back

Yeah, because when Lair got a 4.5, it didn't matter because it's just "one person's opinion." In case you haven't noticed, the games held to the highest regard in the world gets excellent score. For the most part, we all have the same wants and desires in a game, so I don't see why you don't think anyone can get upset over a game flopping. It sends a message. I enjoy the heck outta SW flops and in fact some of them are my favorite games this gen. 8)

Yes, yes I know I didn't answer the real question here but I did that using the poll. :P

Flops are funny. Everyone goes all crazy and its fun to watch and participate. The actual floppage of the game sucks though especially if its criticaly panned. One less good game to play.

The only time I feel bad about a flop is when the game didn't deserve it. Cases in point:

Mass Effect and Uncharted.

They both deserved better than they got. But opinions are opinions.

Zeno Clash is one of my favourite games of 2009 so far, so yes, I enjoy flops.

EDIT: After actually reading the OP, flops make this place fun.

I mostly hate seeing a game flop. Sonic '06's failure broke my heart.

However, I enjoyed seeing Halo Wars flop if only because it makes a future for console RTS's less likely.

Turning Point: Fall of Liberty's failure was an amusing spectacle.

Also the Conduit's floppage was enjoyable when it made the sheep go into full on damage control mode.

I've yet to experience one. But from what I hear the aftermath of a big one can be quite funny.

No, i think it's a little pathetic that someone can get enjoyment out of a game flopping. I like it when games on the systems i own actually do good, maybe even exceed the hype.

Hoping a game fails? That's kinda low.

Hoping to see unreasonable fanboys eat some humble pie? That's not only acceptable, that's expected.

... i don't look to much into flops.. i know a bad game and when i see it..and i'm usually right so i'm never surprise

I usually like the flops more then the over hyped games...

Take MGS4...Hated it..IMO it was crap..I would take R&C or Socom over that game any day of the week...
