Do you enjoy Zelda or Final Fantasy more

Ok Heres the question.

Which out of the two series do you get the most enjoyment from

Zelda(WHOLE SERIES)

or

Final Fantasy(WHOLE SERIES)

Tough decision? Most definitely.

They are way too different and both have their own unique charm. I wish Nintendo would make cities as good as Final Fantasy's cities though. :(yellowandmushy

Zelda by alot.

Zelda is more consistantly good (aside from those Phillips CD-i travesties) but it's always prettymuch exactly the same thing. Final Fantasy has actually evolved with the times for each game and the stories are far deeper and told better.

For actual enjoyment Zelda:OOT was like the greatest thing ever but FF is better overall.

Easiest question ever! The Zelda franchise is one of my favorite. I HATE all Final Fantasy games. I HATE turn-based battle. I HATE the style of Final Fantasy games. Heck, I even HATE the smell of the games. I've tried to like them ever since I first played Final Fantasy for the SNES, but I just can't stand them.BubbyJello

I'd expect more from a Guild Wars fan. And reading your messages is one thing. They're so poorly written and full of grammatical errors that it's hard to "read" you either which way.

But anyway, maybe you'd like to explain why FF is so much better than Zelda?

I've watched someone play one on the PS1, not sure which one it was though. But I'm basically sure I wouldn't like it, turn-based fighting really bores me. I want to like it, but I just can't. I have never beaten a turn-based game in my life. I'll play them for a little bit, but then I just get bored.

Are you really that insecure? The only one close to being half-naked is Vaan and he's still wearing a vest. Casino Royale showed more of Daniel Craig with his short swim-trunks coming out of the water, do you hate the movie because of that?

Tidus's voice may be a little annoying, but you don't even hear Squall or Cloud speak. Plus Vaan barely has any "emo" moments that I can think of. And what about the lead character of Final Fantasy IX, Zidane? Why didn't you mention him at all in this generalization of Final Fantasy "prissy little emo girl" lead characters.

And have you played the games at all or are you making these generalizations because other people made them and you are going off what they have done? Cause if you disliked one FF due to the main character as much as you are showing then I would be hard pressed to believe that you have played any others and are therefore making generalizations which is a terrible thing to do.

You should try 7. The battles can get fast if you speed them up with haste and the story is close to one of the best in gaming, IMO.

I understand that this kind of thing is more popular in Japan, but here in America I just think it's stupid. I personally think the ways to make the Final Fantasy games better is if made Auron the main character of X, Cid the main character of VII, and Laguna the main character of VIII.

Putting those characters as the central focus of the game would go against the plot and story that the game is giving you. Some people may hate Tidus as a lead role, but his role in FFX is so pivotal that most of the plot in the game would just not be there if Auron was the main character. Same with Cloud from FFVII. Its his story as he finds himself, and Cid's role is so small compared to Cloud's it just wouldn't work.

Games do not always need the strongest, most bad-ass, masculine character to be the lead. Especially in games where story and character progression are essential, such as the Final Fantasy games.

About the whole quiet and resolute part, that was who the characters were. You may not have liked them, but that is who they were. Cloud doesn't know who he is, why he is here, and his whole world is flipped upside-down when he finds out about his past and at the death of Aerith. Of course you're going to go through depression!

zelda. the only FF i have really loved was 7 (crackin game). i thought 8 was absolutely rubbish and 10 and 10-2 were also poor. i wasnt a big fan of 3 either due to all the grinding needed....i hate grinding. 12 seems ok....but not jaw droppingly brilliant so far (though i dont think im very far in). so far my summary of FF as a series is "hit and miss".

in contrast, the only zeldas i dont like are zelda 2 (oh god what were they thinking? im all for messing with a formula...but eeeeeeewwwwww what a woeful waste of time...terrible game) and phantom hourglass (i cant state this enough....i absolutely hate that main dungeon u keep having ot return too....its a game breaker for me). i know that when i buy a zelda title..i can be pretty confident that itll be quality accross the board.
