Do you expect the Xbox 720 to flop? [w/ poll]

With all the rumors of no BC, no used games, and a required internet-connection, I don't see how anybody would want to buy it. Don't even remind me of Kinect 2.0. Of course, rumors aren't always true, as we saw with the PS4, but based on these rumors do you think the nextbox will flop?

Coming from someone who has never owned a Sony console, I really think it will. If I did buy a console next-gen (I won't), I would probably get the PS4. It just looks much more promising than what we are currently seeing from MS.

Not really a problem for me, but I can see how that would ruin it.

I dont think most of the Xbox fans will care about all those things, their controller has an analog stick where the D-pad is suppose to be, you cant put a price on that.

Too early to tell. If the rumors of always online required, and no used games are true. Then yes the Nextbox will flop. Of course right now everything is a rumor.

there's a lot of bad signs at the moment. If anyone thinks the graphical edge will mean better sales than the wiiu then just look at history. Graphics don't really matter to the mainstream audiences. They won't pay that much extra money for it anyway. Like all systems though, the software can be a saving grace. We've just got to see some.

I think it will sell the most, but it will be a Halo/Forza box with full 3rd party support and enough things to appeal to casuals and non gamers to make them buy it. I think the PS4 will be the best for core gamers

It could go either way.

This is correct.  360 did come 2nd place in total retail games (with 952) to the Wii's 1221.  Even third place, if you count the PC.  But we all know what system came in dead last, the PS3 :cool:

Even though I won't be buying an Xbox 720 anyways.  I'm a Playstation guy.  The speculation that is running rampant is just that.  Speculation.  I will reserve judgement until Microsoft has their unveiling.  Until then, I'll enjoy the speculation drama.

I expect it to sell very well in North America due to the subscription plan, better marketing and how the brand is well established in America. Worldwide we might see another PS3/360 situation.

It won't flop, but I can see it do worse than the 360 worldwide and better than the 360 in US. PS4 will most likely just do the same as the PS3 is currently doing if not a little better due to a better launch. 

It's up to the gamers to decide though if they want a multiplat cablebox that's always online with Halo and Forza with some throwaway early gen exclusives (if it even happens) or a multiplat socialbox with Sony's first party titles (both old and new IPs knowing them) and indie support that isn't always online. *shrugs*

I actually hope consumers speak a loud and clear NO! to "always on" gaming by not buying the console.

Unfortunately history has proven media influence can overwhelm logic.

MS could package poo in a can, sell it with a subscription fee and there will still be a million or more lemmings standing around yo buy it.

It will most likely sell more than the WiiU... oddly enough... at this point... I'd rather buy a WiiU than MS's next subscription scam.
