First off, I never replay a game, I only did it twice in my life and was disgusted at myself. IN fact, in infamous 2, im going to all good and after I reach all the way up there im just going to red. Just two have both sides. Noting that: IT sickens me how some developers make it so your forced to play a game twice to get a full experience, i already know the story, im not playing it again, same reason I dont prestige in cod, its wasteful, no benefits and serves to waste more time than me enjoy it. That being said... I always go normal, never hard cause I dont know how hard a game could be or easy cause then it presents no challange. I also hate how some games make themselves artifically hard by decreasing ammo, to me hard is adding more enemies and smarter AI. I forget which game, but there is a game out there that actually increases AI intelligence to counter and shoot.

Medium in any game that isn't a shooter. I usually play Shooters on the Hardest difficulty.

Depends on the type of game, shooters I usually play on hard, since I sorta like for enemies to be bullet pin cushions, not styrofoam dummies that require a measly bullet to take off their head.. I also like to get punished if I make a mistake.

Unlike you, however, I tend to replay games once at least, but I don't like having to unlock difficulties, such as in DMC, I really don't need to play it on normal, not after beating a previous version on DMD.

There are probably only a few games that I've played more than 2 times through, DMC3, DMC4(althoguh that was just unlocking, DMC3 was to SS every mission 'cause I loved it) and Mass Effect 2(played quite a few times through, I'm gonna play it again before me3 to get a perfect save with all my choices). I at least try to do a speed run after I complete a game once, see how fast I can do it.

One game, that I would normally do multiple playthroughs, TW2, I don't really know if I'm gonna do it again, I really don't enjoy it's combat, 'least not enough to justify another play. :(

thats funny, DMC is wanna the only games I replayed but only cause I unlocked Virgil, and it made it extra easy to progress.

Whats wrong with playing a game twice?...Oh if your trying to go from good to evil in infamous 2 it wont work...Your still going have make choice at the end to be either good or evil...So your going to have to play the game twice...Oh believe me I have tried it...As for your question depends on the game for me...Games like uncharted go on hard...FPS mainly medium...

I generally play through them the first time on hard (except Ninja Gaiden series- I'm not god). Last game I played was Witcher 2 and I did my first playthrough on hard.

I generally play on hard. I like a challenge, and most games nowadays are too easy on normal.

Usually just normal, unless I hear beforehand that it is too easy on normal, like with Alan Wake. If I really like a game, like Gears of War for instance, I'll go back and beat it on Insane.

I like how some people think its a good thing to be an elitist gamer and play for trophies, I own many games, I game alot, but I play games practically, your opinion doesn't matter, I am a gaming enthusiast, if a gamer is some lonely anti-social fart who sits around playing WOW all day, then no im not a gamer. IMO, your not a gamer for assuming a gamer has to get the whole experience out of a game, i play a game to the level of my enjoyment, not a level of annoyance. Can someone argue with what I just said?

I play medium on first playthrough, player harder on follow up playthroughs. If it's a long game like an RPG I generally just play it on normal with no harder playthrough, but some shorter games with multiple harder settings I'll play through on the harder settings. Guess it just depends on whether the game is calling for me to play on harder difficulty or not.

Normal or hard, depending on a game.

Some times easy if A) It's the only avaliable setting or B) It is literally impossible to do it on a higher difficulty without playing through and doing some stuff first.

Of course, the only game I've played like that is Earth Defense Force, but still.

Depends very much on the game. If it's something like a game im going to play competive multiplayer on later, then i go straight for the hardest difficulty, just for the hell of it, or if the game becomes ekstra realistic (I.E Crysis 1 & Warhead, when the North Koreans actually speaks Korean on the hardest difficulty). But as a general rule of thumb, i go for medium.

I like to replay my games, they're not disposable to me. I've been playing on hard but after Dead Space 2 I think I'll play on normal the first time, hard the second unless it's something like Gears or Uncharted where I know the difficulty on hard will be just right. I wish all games allowed you to change difficulty midway, because some games don't perfectly nail the hard difficulty like the aforementioned and Vanquish. I don't like it too easy, but I don't like them frustratingly overdifficult.

Generally I play on Normal for shooters and beat em up games. Sorry but dying from three bullets and the enemies knowing my move before I even attack isn't fun. :|

Everything else can be on Hard.

I usually play on easy. I'm just not very good at games, even though playing them is all I've ever done.

Playing on easy isn't going to make you better, bro. Gotta force yourself to face the challenges.

Good RPG games I will always replay(The Witcher 2, Fallout 1 and 2, Demon's Souls, etc), and some shooters such as Crysis.

But yeah, I don't play games twice or more that often. I usually play on either normal first, and if I really like it or it's too easy, I'll ramp it up to hard either that play through or my second play through.

Always depends on the games. If there's achievements to be had I'll consider and nearly always do: play again on the hardest difficulty. Always start on normal.
