You can buy 5 copies of your favorite hyped game to try and boost sales but when the data comes out it shows it only sold 30,000. You cant do anything about it and you cant make everyone elsebuy what you prefer.

Psychonauts developer, Tim Schafer put it correctly, you guys worry too much about sales over the actual game product. Back in the classic gaming sales these kids battled each other their gaming skills rather than trying to own someone over sales. They just had fun.

I hate to piss you off but GTA Chinatown Wars, Madworld, KZ 2, Star Ocean 4, MLB The Show, Resistance, Halo, RE5,Gears, Brawl, etc are all doing just fine despite some having higher sales than the others. The point is that they are good games and will continue to drive the industry farther.

Stop thinking a game must sell at least 1.5 million day one to be considered a success. Because everyone does not rush out and buy games on the first day. Some gamers have real lives ya know?

Before you come in and say low sales killed Sega, I would like to say that is untrue. Sega was just mismanaged and released too much in such a short time.

People do worry to much about sales. Whilst they are important, they are not so relevant to the consumer as we like to believe (whilst they can sometimes dictate sequels etc, it is not always the case).

Pretty certain most people don't actually consider sales of a product when they decide to buy it. They use sales to claim a bit more ownage over fanboys. That's about it.

SSBB did not have bad sales. It sold 1.4 million first week in US. That's more than Killzone 2's sales thus far

The TC didn't even say SSBB didn't sell well. If you noticed his list it has games that range from low sales to high sales, and then he says that even if you disregard the sales of all those games they're all still great games.

It does not have bad sales. You missed the whole point.

Say of WiiSports/WiiFit have much higher sales than Brawl correct? Does that mean WiiSports/WiiFit are much better games and deliever a more robust gaming experience than Brawl? That is the point.

Besided you cant control how many people are buying WiiFit. On this board it sounds like WiiFit is the worst selling game ever but in the actual world it is one of the highest ones.

Well, we can't blame Wii Fit sales - training is something that people are interested in. Wii Sports was bundled.

while I agree with your main point, that people shouldn't argue/care so much about sales, I disagree that we have no control. We buy games and therefore we are voting with our money.

Saying people don't have control over how much a game sells, is like saying no drop of water is responsible for the flood.

Don't make threads telling people what to do, please.
