Gates that I could easily fit through if I squeezed in but THIS PATH IS BLOCKED OFF.
nyoroism
Or hills that are too steep to climb even though they are at a 45 degree angle. Or even worse, the slightly darker grass which it is impossible for your character to walk on for some unkown reason.
WWII, Killing Nazis (for the millionth time) and KOTOR-esque games (I just think they are dead boring and i hate star wars-esque media). I cant stand either :P-Serpahim-
did you just take a dump on KOTOR....? wow... how off can you be.
Two that come to mind:
1. My all time biggest pet peeve of any first person game. Not being able to see your own feet!
2. Collision Detection, if doen poorly it can take you out of the experience worse then anything else.
Long load times
Lack of online play
Inability to chose what DAMN LEVEL I WANT TO PLAY IN HALO3 ONLINE. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?

It's called a custom game, get some friends.
It's cute of you to defend something you love, but that's a ridiculous set of circumstances to get 15 other people all logged on at once just so I can CHOOSE a level if i like BIG TEAM BATTLES. Cmon man i love halo too but you have to understand how frustrating that is. Every other game does it and it manages to work. I dont like Shotty Sniper but I HAVE to play it when its assigned to me? OR I LOSE EXP???

Yeah. Or else people would just get really good at one map and play it over and over to get their EXP and ranks up.
It's to make it fair. And there is the veto option.
It's not hard to find 15 other people playing Halo 3. At all. There's thousands and thousands of people playing, and you're allowed up to 100 friends on XBL. And each of them is allowed 100 friends.

Well my friend...thats your opinion and I respect it. I however find it to be VERY annoying that I have to play maps I do not want to in ways I do not want to. Sure I can veto...right into ANOTHER map I dont like, and then I cannot veto it again....yea thats smart. Also...do you level up in custom matches? Because that could be exploited too. It's still a damn fun game. I just wish i could play SWORDS more than once a year, and without 20 mins of planning to get the match going myself.
I have a few pet peeves...
ANY online game, playing with noobs,
ANy online games, playing with pre-pubescent kids (who talk crap)
1.) Escort missions.
2.) Small, fastenemies that have to be taken out with manual aim.
3.) Things I should be able to do but can't for no good reason (much like your pet peeve.)
Frame rate.
Especially in GH3 where there must be a consistent frame rate at all times. It annoys me a lot.
1. Doors, gates, pieces of string, invisible barriers, etc that prevent your from getting through a place which would make the game so much faster. Oh no, the path to the boss is blocked off by like, 3 pieces of rock, we'll have to find another way around which will surely take AT LEAST 3 hours!
2. The inablity to jump. Come on now, sure, Marcus Fenix and his Cog buddies aren't exactly the lightest characters, but surely they should be capable of hopping? Apparently not, and climbing and diving are clearly more effective.
3. Not being able to skip cutscenes. Crap, I died again, now I have to watch that scene, AGAIN. Seriously, in certain games, I've had to replay the same part so many times that I could recite the dialogue in a different language.
That's all for now, but I'll definitely be able to come up with more later. :P

Yeah i dont like KOTOR :P IF you read all my previous posts, i always talk about how i hate KOTOR, but im willing to admit that its probably a very good game, just not my type of game. I just dont like the Bioware style of RPGs and i cant stand starwars...mis those 2 things and u got a no-buy for me. Its not that they are badly designed or anything, its just sumthing about the pace, uninspired story (IMO), and to uber boring cutscenes where they cant even move their hands for crying out loud, that really kills the experience for me.
There is an old saying that goes sumthing like "its not what you say, but how you say it." I think its very relavent for KOTOR. Its got a great story (well, the first one...the second one felt like a rehash), but the way its presented through the statue-esque dialogs makes me not give a damn about it.
That single driving mission or random activity that break away from the deafault gameplay.
Item Collecting
The inch high stepping that you are unable to get on because you are can't jump, so you have to take that precise trip and waste more time.
Unfair minigame that slow down the process of the game.
Poor blocking off unreachable pathes.
Sometimes the lack of anytime save.
Long cutscenes that are unskippable and if you die, you revert back to it.
Lack of common sense even in a fantasy game.
