I do, because if it does, next gen consoles will cost more for including the specs for 3d and games will probably cost more too.

I just got my 3D ready monitor, so I will soon find out what this 3D vision on the Pc is all about. I just need to get those $200 nvidia glasses now. I hear Batman AA does 3D very well, that didnt affect the way the game was made. So I dont think 3D has much of an affect on games.
3d has almost no chance of taking off anytime soon. Have you seen the prices of 3D tvs?...in Canada they are going for about $4000. No way 3D gamingis becoming mainstream with those prices.
In fact alot of old games work with those 3d glasses, before the tech was even around.I just got my 3D ready monitor, so I will soon find out what this 3D vision on the Pc is all about. This is probably literally exactly what people were saying 15 years ago or so. Literally, they probably didn't want 3-D to take off. Except with this of course they meant 3-D graphics..... I for one welcome new innovation.oldkingallantYou're right too. When the original TRON was coming out alot of the artists didn't like the 3D graphical approach.
i do hope 3D takes off i have been waiting for the tech to get good enough were it can brought to hour homes
as far as additional cost the only thing that would cost u as of now would be new 3D tv which will be 1,000 or less by this time next year and 3D glasess that will be cheaper or included with 3D tv's by this time next year
games are already made in 3D so they dont have to do anything different and there should not be additional development cost
and as far as hardware if you allready own a ps3 then there is no additional cost for hardware since ps3 only needs a ps3 update and it will support and output 3D
so if ps3 can already do 3D via update so if next gen systems are overpriced it wont be because of 3D tech it will be for something else
Yes I agree too. Videogames should never change, they should stay the way they are now, because change is bad. Why would we want to change anything when it's not broke? Why would we want to experiment in different forms of entertainment? How would motion controls or 3D ever make the experience better?
OP sounds like a conservative that would vote for sarah palin, no offense (it's just a simile, I'm not making accusations)

No, I dont mean that. Im not against change. I'm against massive jumps in technology and costafter an already massive jump in those twoproperties of a console and lets not forget game cost. Thats what I'm against.
There is almost no increase in development effort or performance loss for implementing 3D in video games. Your TV's and additional peripherals (glasses) are a different story. But not everyone purchases a 5.1 surround sound setup. Not everyone will purchase a 3D ready TV.
Saying you hope 3D doesnt become a feature would be like saying you hoped 5.1 sound didnt become a feature.

Game cost has always been around the 50/60 dollar mark (even more in the UK). And if you think 3D is a 'massive' jump in technology, well then...I don't have anything to say

First of all, next gen is going to cost more because it is going to have new, better tech in it. Secondly, why would next gen cost unreasonably more because of 3d when the ps3 is getting an updateto allow for 3d this gen? Seems like next gen it should just be better without being exceptionally costly.
Don't get me wrong, I'm in no rush to buy a new TV anytime soon (and won't until the bugs have been worked out), but 3d can only add to the experience if it'd really good. I'd love to see actual depth perception added to games.
every time i think of 3D gaming part of me thinks its too expensive and impractical. but another part of me thinks how cool Wipeout HD and Rez HD would be. plus im a tech geek and love stuff like that.
