Yeah, same with madden. I have friends who complain about how each games is the same, but they still buy it.

No I do not. I, and the others that I know, buy each game that comes out and while we may have some nitpick critiques about them here and there we all still enjoy them very much.
I don't bother to bad mouth it anymore, actually more and more I'm like "this could be the game to pull me back in...", but I manage without it, mostly because these games never see significant price drops though, I'm not willing to pay for it mainly because I just want to play the SP and care nothing for the MP spectacle.
I don't really say much, I mean I definitely haven't played Call of Duty since Black Ops II. I use to love the series and was ready to pick up any new Call of Duty when it would release. Call of Duty 2 was awesome. Big Red One on Playstation 2 was awesome. Modern Warfare was awesome. Slowly, I started to just get tired of the series and drifted onto other games...
I CAN be once in a while that person. Not online but mostly to my friends that are also still playing these games after all these years. Like I didn't like the concept of both AW and BO3 and bashed it because of it's too future settings, at the end I still bought AW and BO3 day one. Then I promised myself not to buy IW, yet friends convinced me again to buy it and so I did day one, again. Altough it's a damn fine game compared to the other last 2.
Not COD, but Madden yes. I've done it a few times myself with Madden. Not recently though.
I used to that with Madden but I've stopped buying it the last couple years. Madden 2005 had a deeper franchise mode than current gen Maddens which is pathetic.
It's been years since I've picked up a COD game. I pretty much avoid them like the plague. Now sports games don't really change much but it would be kinda lame to still be playing like 2K 14 or something and not even having the current rosters lol
Im very proud i never bought a CoD. Well ok i did buy it long ago for 360, it was CoD 3, but it doesnt count because back then there was no CoD virus. It was like ok this game sucks i just put it away. Times have changed... now CoD is the number 1 virus casual gamers have been infected with. It has hurt the FPS industry a lot, so we are stuck with millions buying the copy and paste CoD every single year. FIFA is a number 2 virus, nearly the same terrible copy and paste game every year.
I dont care if you a 20 year old pro that made CoD their full time job until they retire at 26. You are still a casual for playing a terrible game.
The only COD I've purchased since 4 as been Infinite Warfare. I really don't have a lot of criticism for it, since the campaign was very well done. I don't like the multiplayer, but I wasn't expecting to. The game was really a pleasant surprise. I'm not that interested in the WWII game, though.
No. But I only have one other gamer friend and he's way more picky than I am so I dont have that problem. My younger brother buys FIFA almost every year but he doesnt talk cr4p about it, in fact its pretty much everything he plays all year
I am sure most of their diehard fans do. But most of them are not buying it for the single player component anyway. Surprised they have not done a co-op campaign yet actually.
I usually buy them if the campaign looks good, but not often. Last was Advanced Warfare and I liked it. Last one I paid before that was Big Red One, and I have borrowed Modern Warfare 1 and 2, and Black ops. Hats off to those that are skilled in the MP, but hate the ones that start new profiles to kick 1-5 level players' asses that are just trying to learn and have fun. They kill the experience and ruin the community just to feel like bad asses when they suck against people on their own level.
I am looking forward to the next one, but will probably buy used and sell it after a couple play throughs, since I refuse to be milked by extra maps, zombie modes, and again the pretty toxic MP fan base that play nothing but these games over and over again.
Half of system wars I bet.
I don't know why people care. It's like shit pop music. It's existence doesn't stop me from listening to the Bad Seeds. So people love COD every year, it's no skin off your nose is it? Same with Madden. It would be nicer if EA simply released a DLC with new rosters every year until they release a new engine but that's not the fans fault.
@DocSanchez: That would be awesome for gamers, but sadly it doesn't work that way.
I have not bought one in a while but it would hook me.
@the-a-baum: it would work fine if it was established that way from the beginning, but they would make less money. And EA are a company set out for that purpose. They would still rake it in but when you consider what they will be paying just for the license...
Well what's your take on it TC?
To me, it sounds like typical behavior we all engage in at some point or another, basically we do not always mention to others exactly how we feel about certain things, and produce these small white lies " oh no me I would never watch this show....me? I don't listen to music like that..never....etc.".
Lots of people don't have the guts to state their tastes in order to fit in more with the crowd or for whatever other reason.....but that does not mean they actually feel that way. Either that, or they know exactly what they are doing and they just don't want to disclose that information to others. I don't blame your friends, these days people get attacked just for liking something that others do not like. Case in point: The System Wars board.
No, but you know what I DO have? Friends who crap all over COD while pretending crap like Killzone Shadow Fall and Homefront are good games.
I mean people are still into CoD. Young and old alike.
COD is simple, accessible and fun. It's the Goldeneye/Perfect Dark/Timesplitters of "2007 - Present". Some gamers want more, obviously. Battlefield and Titanfall are better "mainstream" games and you can get as "hardcore" as you like on PC. But for the average gamer, it's tough to beat COD for FPS. Just like waaay more people will have a great time on casual Wii Sports and Mario Kart vs golf and car sims.
