You could focus on power and emag, etc. whatever, and the degree should touch on that, but if your EE program isn't talking about transistors, and other microelectronics, in today's world, it's crap. I smell outdated EE program.

they're basically the same thing, you're just looking at a different level. Go futher and you could be in circuit-board engineering or however specific you want to be. . Electric engineering definitely encompasses electronic engineering. Electronic engineering will be somewhere between electric and computer engineering. Computer engineering IS electrical engineering, but it focuses on the computer aspects, with a focus on some of the abstracted higher layers.
Computer Engineering is to Electrical engineering as Aerospace Engineering is to Mechanical Engineering or Materials Science is to Chemical Engineering. It's the same stuff, just a focus. I'm really astounded you do not know this.
