Do you like Trophies/Achievements?

They're out with a few games.

• They often have me attempt things I normally wouldn't have even tried.
• They act as a set of side quests, expanding the amount of life a title can have.
  

i like achievements, but i dont seek out a game for them, i get them if doing them sounds fun.

ex: i havent gotten "overkill" yet, but i try for it, and it keeps lone wolves even more frantic

I like to collect both trophies and acheivements. Right now I'm conflicted on which version of Dead Space to get, because the PS3 version has trophies.Mordred19

What do you care more about, your trophy count or your gamerscore. Also, which controller do you like better. That is usuall my process on multiplats when no online is involed. (Online=LIVE>PSN IMO)

well i dont own a ps3, but I own a 360. It's all about implementation.

The game really has to be fun in the first place. Stupid stuff like find 3 crows is dumb.

But stuff like play through the last level of halo 3 on legendary with the iron skull on and finish all in ghosts is flipping awesome. Just did they yesterday. Worth a grand total of 0 GS. It's about unlocking it, not the score from it.

Ummmm you don't get any money for your achievements, sorry to break it to ya. I don't really care for the most part. I feel really good when I kick ass in a game and get a really hard to get achievement/trophy, but that is about it. Most of them aren't set at those points. I really don't underand the people that will go way out of their way to get a meaningless achievement to pad thier gs.

Yes, I do, especially if they are done right with creativity behind them. Halflife 2 is a good example.

I was playing the Fable 2 pub games which is an ok game and what keeps me playing is trying to unlock all the unlockable and getting achievements plus the gold. While I have PAIN which has trophies but getting them are pretty stupid and not even worth my time because it's not fun trying to get them.

So what I'm trying to say is that I like them if it's done right. And since the 360 invented and perfected them, I like them more than knock offs.

I know it sounds dumb, but it's the truth. Maybe i feel achievements should be reserved to consoles?

I dont get why they like to unlock them there. Not trying to hate on valve, but they didn't exactly implement them correctly. They seem to be more like useless unlocks than useless achievements.

Well, the unloackable weapons sure as hell aren't useless. I love my Blutsauger, Ubersaw, and Sandvich. But I hate when people achievement farm when I'm trying to play.

"NO DAMNIT I WON'T LET YOU SHOOT ME 20 TIMES IN A ROW!"

I do wish the weapons weren't achievement based, though.

Not at the achievement thing, I don't mind if the game has them, I just won't bother trying to get them. But GfWL is one of the worst, if not the worst, online programs to ever set foot on this (cyber) Earth.

I bought a PS3 mainly for a blu ray player, but I stopped buying blu rays. Also yes I have pub game character that has a redonkalous amount of gold, another character that gain gold legit, and a character that's in serious debt. All characters will have consequences and will affect the world in Fable 2. Nothing's ruin.

Now that I thought about it, it's not just the goals for PAIN trophies but more like PAIN itself, it's not that engaging. But oh well, I got PAIN for free and the Pub Games free with pre-order.
