Do you think its underrated?
It's very difficult to tell if a game is over or underrated to be honest. They should come up with some sort of formula to decide once and for all if a game is rated properly to end future confusion!
I haven't tried it yet but Max Payne multilayer was incredibly fun I remember. I scored dozens of hours there. In my opinion, 3rd person MP should be played with very few players, in this way it becomes very tactical. If Uncharted MP is close to Max Payne's then I am pretty sure it's very good then. I will try to find time and play it this weekend.
Uncharted has always been about the story but when they added in multiplayer in U2 it was done so well that it kept me going for hundreds of hours beyond the single player play throughs. The coop story was great but the real seller was coop arena mode. Loved it.
U3 added some fun things and was still fun. Coop story was twice as long but arena mode was remixed oddly. Still fun though.
U4 missed the mark almost entirely. They added the rope swing mechanics and the side kicks and what not but it's not nearly as fun. Why? Well for starters there is way to much emphasis on blind fire. Only snipers bother to aim anymore and it looks almost as rediculous watching two dumb asses running in circles next too each other seeing who hit the blind fire first then when bunny hopping with a shotgun was a thing in the previous games.
Then of course... no fucking coop at launch... or for the rest of 2016 for that matter. That's a massive fail on Naughty Dog's part as the coop is what kept me coming back. I've platinumed the game and as of right now, there is no reason for me to boot it up again until I want to play the story again or when/if coop is actually released.
ND dropped the ball and I hold this as their worst multiplayer till coop is released. In stark contrast, I loved the story and hold it as best in the series.
It's fun in bursts, but way too shallow and cheesy for its own good. Doesn't really stack up favorably to the better multiplayer shooters, especially the one in its own genre: Gears of War. People make the assumption that because the vertical element adds a bit more spice to the gameplay in SP, it should do the same in mp, but in this case not so much. Gears simply as a higher skill ceiling with its wall bouncing and gnasher than Uncharted ever does.
I like it but not as much as UC2 MP.
It needs co-op mode for it to fully satisfy me, good thing they plan to add that soon.

Pretty much. No point playing U4 MP when Gears 4 exists.

Pretty much. No point playing U4 MP when Gears 4, Call of Duty IW, Battlefield 1, Overwatch, Destiny, Division, Halo 5, Rainbow Six Siege.... exists.
Fixed
UC4 carries no semblance to what made UC2/UC3 so compelling. It's not the additions of sidekicks or mystical that bother me (I didn't mind kickbacks in UC3), but thy certainly don't help. Mechanically, UC4 is just nowhere near as interesting and is needlessly misleading and unreliable. From bloom to the jankiness of the rope and knockdowns, UC4 is by far the weakest of ND's MP suites.
