Due to its isssues of RROD and the shocking failure rate, do you regret buying an Xbox 360? I'm on my third 360 now after getting the RROD about 4 times and I'm starting to think if I made a mistake by getting one in the first place. What do you guys think?

I know it has great games. Not to forget the great online service. But how can I take full advantage of its features if it breaks down every now and then? It's pathetic.

I sort of regret buying one (I'm a huge MGS fan and I don't know what I'm going to do when the game releases).

With that said, I just pre-ordered GTAIV Special Edition for the Xbox 360.

I don't regret it in the slightest really. I've had 2 red rings and of coure i was annoyed, who wouldn't be. However, if you can't occupy yourself with something else for a couple of weeks, then that says alot. For me i just played on my PS2, went out more etc. Plus i got a free game and 2 months live which put me about 1 month in the green.

I'd prefer 0 rrod of course, but it isn't the end of the world and microsoft did a decent job on the compensation in my case.

The main reason i don't regret it is because from 2005-2009 the 360 has by far a better game lineup for my tastes. I could have got a PS3, but i would have missed out on Gears, Halo, Bioshock, Saints Row, Graw 1, Forza, PGR 3 & 4, Crackdown, Mass Effect, etc, etc.

Perhaps the 360 has the weakest future, but for the years 2005-2009 it has been extremely strong and thoroughly worthwhile.

If the 360 brand died today i would have had my moneys worth many times over.

No you don't have a failing console, you've got a broken controller. And no I don't regret buying a 360, it has the best games this generation, best game sales, best multiplatform games, best controller, best online play.

IMO people who don't own a 360 are not even gamers.

I'm currently out with the RROD, I had it since launch so maybe i was lucky to get that much out of it.

My friend also has the RROD so we are both waiting for repairs.

The problem is the 360 has an incredible library of games (imo the best of the 3), best multi-plats, best controller, best online.

It's just a shame the 360 so unreliable, well so was ps1/2.

Last year definitely, the console just kept breaking. Since last Summer it's been working properly so I'm starting to forget about the issue now. Plus there is loads of games coming out this year that interest me, and a lot of exclusives that I enjoy playing at the moment so now I don't regret it anymore.......until the next RROD.

It has the best library and rrods are exchanged for free. So no. Definatly not.

I do, however, think that 06/07 were the prime years of the console and that it is getting downhill from now on.

I've had my 360 since first launch, gone threw 4 and absolutely love my 4th as much as my first! I make great money, I guess I could own a PS3 but... nawwww really, the whole XBL experience has spoiled me as a gamer so anything less is just plain unacceptable!

I've had three RRoDs, yet its givn me 2+ years of great fun, and I play the 360 more than the other two current consoles combined. So no, I don't regret buying it at all.

wow that thing must be collecting dust, unless you love movies. but then that kinda defeates the object of a games console...

ive never had a RROD either, its a WAY over exagerated problem. i don't know anyone who has had RROD and only one who has had any issues (disk read error) at all.

No but see the 360 games are fun and you really get into them, so you don't really hear it.

It's not so bad compared to other things I've purchased. I'd say I prefer my PS3 more, but, considering my Xbox 360 has only RRODed once, I can't complain too much. Do wish online was free though. That would probably make me play my Xbox 360 more.

its everything I need in a console, never regret it, because in my eyes, the amount of enjoyment Ive sourced from the machine has already paid for itself.

so many great games, so many great memories and so much to look forward too...ahh life is good

its best suited for me the upscaled dvds are much better since i dont watch many movies and if i do they only cost me like £3

i just have loads of friends who also have them so thats a big bonus

i prefer the game lineup to PS3 mainly down to the fact that i just dont like MGS4, FF etc etc alothugh killzone2 is good

and the controller is awesome

the only thing FOR ME that is good about the PS3 is the reliability, killzone 2
