Do you still remember the top game you enjoyed on the Gamecube?

It's kind of hard to recall for me, and was wondering if I would also forgot about this gen consoles the way I forgot about last gen 7 years from now.

So what was special about that console to you? What was the top memorable game for you on the gamecube?

P.S. Also, what was so memorable to you for the first xbox? (aside from Halo)

I still have my copies of Wind Waker and Twilight Princess unopened, but they'll probably be my favourite for sure. I have to buy a GC controller and memory card for my Wii off Ebay before I can play them. But my favourite GC game at the moment is SSBM. I spent so many hours playing it. I want to try Metroid Prime as well, but I'm not sure if its my sort of game.

For my Xbox.. Exclusive wise? I had a bit of fun with Brute Force local multiplayer I guess, but I really never took Halo: CE and then Halo 2 out of my Xbox to try anything else.

It is Super Smash Bros. Melee without a doubt. Followed by Tales of Symphonia.

For Xbox It would have to be Halo 2. I know you said besides Halo, but it's pretty much the only original Xbox game I have spent a decent amount of time with.

I still buy and play games on the Gamecube, but in terms of first party software on that system, I'd say either F-Zero GX, Super Smash Bros. Melee, and Wind Waker (this would probably be number one out of all the first party games) stuck out as some of the best. Metroid Prime is great too, but I, amongst others don't think that game was the game of the generation (and I thought the second game was better in my opinion).

Third party, oh lets see here: Soul Calibur II (preferred this over Melee) , TimeSplitters 2, Tomb Raider Legend, Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, Splinter Cell... no way I can list them all. :P

F-Zero GX, probably. What a beast of a game.

Gamecube: Eternal Darkness, Paper Mario: TTYD, RE 4, TLoZ:WW, Tales of Symphonia, Metroid Prime 1 & 2, Animal Crossing.

Xbox: Panzer Dragoon Orta, Shenmue 2, TESIII: Morrowind, KOTOR, Jade Empire.

Metroid Prime 1/2, REmake, RE4.

Re1 remake...such an awesome game

Mine would have to be Celda but TBH, I played it on the Wii. :o :P

Tales of Symphonia was the best game for the Gamecube. I have that game, and Kingdom Hearts, to thank for getting me into JRPGs.

The real time battle system was so much fun, I wish more Tales games would be released in the U.S.

Those are the games I remember most fondly.

Mario Tennis.

A) one of the best party games I've ever owned.

B) when no wii SEQUEL came out I gave up on the Wii.

Tales of Symphonia was the best game for the Gamecube. I have that game, and Kingdom Hearts, to thank for getting me into JRPGs.

The real time battle system was so much fun, I wish more Tales games would be released in the U.S.

TOS, How could I forget, I had a blast playing that for over 100 hours with a friend. Amazing game.

my most memorable game is definitely super smash bros melee. my friend and i put tons of hours into that game and it never got boring. another super fun game i must also say is tale of symphonia! fantastic and super fun game.

Had to be a tie between PaperMario: The Thousand Year Door or Resident Evil 4 for most playthroughs.

But for multiplayer it was Melee.

RE4 - Perfection.

WWE Day of Reckoning 1+2 - AMAZING wrestling game that contains gameplay features the new WWE games are only just trying to incorporate. Ahead of its time and looks fantastic.

Luigi's Mansion - Some would call this a glorified tech-demo...to me it is just pure FUN and looks gorgeous.

Mario Kart: Double Dash - So challenging, looks good, some of the best track design ever (this version's Rainbow Road was epic) and has unique gameplay that was good for both single and multiplayer (two characters on one kart).

Crazy Taxi - played this game to DEATH on the arcade, Dreamcast, PS2 and even PC but I LOVED this version because of the controls. The GC controller is one of the best designed controllers for functionality and comfort ever and playing Crazy Taxi with it is a dream as my top score was over $80,000 on default settings in arcade mode and the GC controller was one of the reasons for how I achieved such a good score.

Loads of others that I enjoyed but these are the ones that I probably spent the most time playing and enjoyed the most.

Xbox:

WWE RAW 2 - underrated game, had a lot of cool features that are STILL not in todays WWE games that should be standard such as interfering with your opponents entrance.

Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath - this game OWNS. Had so much fun with this Xbox exclusive and glad it is getting a HD makeover as it deserves.

Fatal Frame/Project Zero - one of the most scariest games ever created and looks even better than its PS2 counterpart thanks to the extra horsepower in the original Xbox.

Silent Hill 2 - ditto.

Need for Speed: Underground - the last truly epic NFS game looking and playing its best on the original Xbox.

Mercenaries - runs and plays better than the PS2 version, beast game.

TimeSplitters 2 - most underrated FPS games EVER. These games are pretty much shooting perfection, looks great and some of the level design is still ahead of most shooters today (damn level FTW) and looks great on Xbox.

Midtown Madness 3 - I don't know why I really like this game as there's not much originality to it nor is it addictive or anything to play...but I still love it.

GTA 3, VC and SA - You know why these games are within the greatest trilogy ever created, and with the added touches such as graphic updates (lovely reflections on cars etc on GTA 3 and VC) to some cool extras such as replays of the carnage you just created on SA, these are by far the most complete versions of last gen's GTA trilogy.

Too many great games on this console to mention but again, these stand out as some of my most treasured.

I enjoyed Smash Brothers, Wind Waker, RE4, Mario Kart Double Dash and a lot of others a ton.

And Crazy Taxi aka The Best Game Ever.

Super Smash Bros and Luigi's Mansion of course, I would say RE4 but I enjoyed that on my PS2 instead.

Eternal Darkness ( i turned my Gamecube off like an idiot) and Wind Waker. Nobody liked Mario Sunshine?
