do you think a revamp dreamcast will be able to compete?

well this thread was inspired by another thread claiming the GC was the best system and someone commented saying the dreamcast was. Now I remember seen the dreamcast for the first time my friends were playing and nba game and my jaw dropped as I saw the graphics. I have bought a used dream cast and have made it my personal goal to collect fighting game on it the 2d games play amazing on this system. Anyways aside from the controller the system it self was good looking and the online was a good attempt. Now I could see a dreamcast coming out with better controls and some new feature do you guys think it would have a chance or is it a lost cause. BTW this thread is just for fun also please feel free to post dreamcast specs and if it ever comes with a revamp dreamcast a kickass name will be Nightmare lol

Not going to work with Sega in the state that they are.

Aside from Overworks the whole company hasn't produced much in years (and Overworks is Skies of Arcadia, Valkyria Chronicles).

The original Dreamcast had incredible 3rd party support. The best launch of any console in history. Launched right off the bat with a consistent flow of AAA games. In it's two year life time the system had quite an incredibly large amount of amazing (and original) games. Saddening that nobody cared.

A revamp Dreamcast couldn't compete because Sega doesn't exist in the console market anymore meaning people wouldn't understand if it was released. It wouldn't really be a Dreamcast if it had new controls, new online, and such. Also, it'd have to have better online, and at least use DVD format.

It really just wouldn't work especially since Sega's 1st party team sucks now, so there'd be almost no support from them to help put games on the system. And Sega obviously failed in the console market once, so why would 3rd party devs support them?
