Do you think competitive gaming could be possible on the PSV?

Do you think that the PS Vita will potentially draw upon itself a competitive handheld gaming scene of some sort, the first of its kind? After looking at this thing and the lineup of franchises on it coupled with the E3 footage -- I'm sold. I think it has some potential where no other handheld has had before.

Based on the feature set I could see a competitive gaming community arising, but competitive communites are so dependent on software and vary from game to game it's hard to say. I'm sure some games will come along though, so why not?

BTW, was there mention of Uncharted PSV having multiplayer at E3?

I'm not going to get in that argument as you will use the tired old sales argument, but in reality we all know sales=/= quality. I see I'm going to have to put th damn contractions in my sig so you guys know the proper ones.

Cod is more fun, fast paced, pick up and play, arcadey..... BF is more slow, sluggish, arguably realistic, simulator...... I prefer the first, you prefer the second.

I'd rather play MW3 over BF3. BF3 is catered toward console noobs, that's why everyone is getting excited. I have played COD since 2003, and BF since 1942 lulz. They both have been consolized, might as well get the one with the more exciting and bettar sp.

BF games have the worst reg of all time, so I'll just stick to my online playing with COD4 and CSS.

Agreed on both accounts. Please people, keep the COD vs. BF argument elsewhere. PSV competitiveness here. Thanks. :)

basically this

it is everyone's opinion. nobody can really say as a fact if a game is better than the other. Of course I like BF more than COD, but a lot of people that played both games like COD more. So yah!

By competitve gaming do you mean have games that are at big tournaments like Evo? If so I'd have to say no. But, if games that come out for it that are also on consoles and plays like them, then you could probably use it for practice (Like SSF4 on 3ds). I can see call of duty being like this.

I guess I mean tournaments, lots of competitive media attention, some GameBattles recognition, tournament play, etc.

I didn't even think about that. I could def envision the Vita as a good competitive gaming device. More than just the software, Sony needs to make sure the Vita is not easily hacked. Many developers didn't want anything to do with the PSP just because they knew more people would have the game illegally than legally.

Supposedly Dissidia FF had like 5 million illegal downloads...that just can't happen on the Vita. If Sony handles that properly, I see this handheld really doing some great things.

It has huge potential to be successful as seeing it being amazon's #1 preorder. Even though it's just one sight, but it does still somewhat represent it having huge potential.

EDIT: Also, equal price with the 3DS. So, this should be VERY interesting...

Playstation brands always been priced higher than it's competitors, so we can see which brand is truly more popular.
