i've seen it. if it's a mistake it's on sony's end. it's not up to the reviewer to reconfigure a system or tv or sound system. as far as i'm concerned these are out of the box comparisons and are fair.
Wait, why is it on sonys end? I mean, lets just make the comparisons with the SCART connection because HDMI cable doesnt come with the PS3?
If you have an HDMI cable, and the console asks you to configure it properly... why dont you?
"you have hdmi cable, want to use it and reach 720p, 1080i and 1080p???" No thanks, it comes with SCART, i'll stick with that forever.

how do you know what they use? maybe they used the default settings with hdmi.
you should ask sony why they don't have the best settings as the default option if that's the case.
I think the AC comparison was wrong...
If you just look a that movie it clearly shows what was going on. Many people doing video comparisons on the PS3 do not have their PS3 setup properly.
Everyone is biased against Sony and the PS3, the media, the government, those shop assistants in Gamestop and especially those damned consumers!!!
Where's my tin foil hat?

It's the reviewer's job to display each system at its fullest potential. If they don't know enough to set up their systems, it's hardly Sony's fault. The problem had nothing to do with the sound or TV setup; it was the PS3 setting. The PS3 doesn't default to settings that would make the system look worse on systems that don't support it. That would be stupid. It would also be stupid for the reviewers to use a TV that doesn't support the full graphics potential of the PS3. It's tantamount to comparing the original XBOX to the PS3 with each hooked up with composite cables to an SDTV.
Ermm. I asked a simple question: matter of bias or matter of ignorance? And I mean ignorance from the point of view of broadcasting online a comparison where they even wanted to take new approaches like zooming in stuff and all. So it's either ignorance over the hardware they are using or...bias.
Wait, I don't mean they are biased towards MS, at all. I just mean that, in case they just saw a white screen playing, they wouldnt make a comparison with that... I guess. But since they will have the HDMI ranged excuse: "we didnt know", they are playing smart, in case they are playing anything at all.
@spruce
There might be olderTVs with HDMI that can't do full... like if you set it on full their screen might screw up. You normally put the most standard value to the configuration, for evading issues. That's why it loads the first time with the lowest resolution possible.

Ignorance, which is sad. It's their job to know these things.
Why should you need to go through all that just to get the best color? Shouldn't that be on by default?SpruceCaboose
Because the HDMI interface is known for washing colors and if your in to video its pretty much a must to recalibrate the TV even switching from component to HDMI.
