I get the impression that you're a tad upset Xbox games sell so well.
When you have such few Flagship titles for your platform, and even less being released this year, it would be dumb to think it WOULDN'T outsell Uncharted.jman1553When you have so many crap flag ship titles, and the have one big one, you would think the sales from the crap would have added up enough to outsell this one game. Especially with MW3 out. Nice try though.
MS could slap a Halo sticker on a disc of My Little Pony and it would outsell most games. Nonstop-MadnessNo. It would sell because it's mlp.
God, Lems are on full defense today. It's sad that people even use sales to mean anything other than the possibility of a game obtaining a sequel. But I suppose the sales game is the only thing Lems are good at playing. That, and 10 year old re-releases.jman1553lol and cows dont play the sales game either...along with the use metacriticwhen gamespot underscores our game.

If the only reason Xbox games sell more than PS3 exclusives is because there aren't many, how do you explain Halo 3's sales in 2007, when the 360 had oodles of exclusives and the pS3 had none? Why didn't MGS4 outsell Halo 3 then? And there is also the fact that most multiplats sell better on 360, so how does that fit in?

Unless it's to congratulate a game developer, you will NEVER see ANY posts from me trying to use game sales as ownage. I haven't spent much time looking at Metacritic, but it seems like a good system to determine if your game is worthy of the hype. A universal 90+ on that site means a bunch of reviewers love the game. Makes sense to me if anyone uses that in an argument. One lousy review against a hundred much more positive reviews is a better way to determine how good a game is. But I won't lie that I'm a hypocrite. I'll use whatever I can to show my system is "superior." But then again, who doesn't?[QUOTE="jman1553"]God, Lems are on full defense today. I cant wait for the Skyrim numbers 360 & PC are going to leave PS3 floundering in the dust. I also lol'ed when the Dark Souls thread came out and one guy pointed out that in the west the PS3 version only outsold the 360 verion by 30,000, because 75% of the sales were in Japan, where there is no 360 version.
I don't think so. It's a remake.SaltyMeatballsIdk man, I have a lot of friends who haven't played Halo CE and they also love Reach MP.

Well it depends.
We know Halo 3, and Halo Reach sold 10+ million, but didn't ODST do a bit worse than those games reaching only a few million sold?
It wouldn't surprise me if this game only sold a few million especially in today's market where CoD and Battlefield rule over the console shooter market. Halo isn't top dog anymore.

Most people bought the 360 due to Halo 3 being released on that platform only. Also, Xbox 360 has more systems in use around the world than PS3. It only makes sense that more game sales would be on that console.
Yes, its very sad. Why the world likes to play games that take no concept of skill or practice is beyond me.Well it depends.

That completely ignores my question: If the only reason 360 exclusives sell so well is because of lack therof, then why didn't MGS4 blow every 360 exclusive title out of tue water? Metal Gear Solid is the oldest Playstation franchise, even older than Halo, and it has a huge following.

Why they like to play those games is advertising.
It's an absolutely huge driving force behind the console industry. Absolutely huge! The companies which are most successful at it tend to sell the most games, and it's really hard to beat the $150 million advertising campaigns behind games like CoD.
That, and 10 year old re-releases.jman1553
It's ironic you say that seeing as you have a God of War sig which has seen 2 recent re-releases. And it's a newer IP than Halo. Oh, and it's a re-MAKE.
I don't think it'll outsell it, but then again, who really and truly cares?
Fo sho. I can't guess how much but depending on on the advertising it gets it could sell as much as Halo 3 or Reach.

No chance. Halo isn't the Juggernaut it once was. It'll be lucky to crack 3 mill even.
How is it not the juggernaut selling as much this gen as it has? It seems like every one who owns a 360 owns at least Halo 3 or Reach.
lack of exclusives this year means the few exclusives are getting crazy sales. so umm yeah of course it would outsell, i would be surprised if it didnt.sethman410
But the 360 has had higher software sales than the PS3 for the entirety of its lifetime, and the exclusives have typically always outsold PS3 exclusives even when the 360 was getting far more games a year.
It's a poor excuse to claim 360 games sell ONLY because 360 owners have no other games to buy especially given that just about every single multiplat this year also sold better on the 360.
It's not like 360 owners have just been sitting on their thumbs for the last 10 months waiting for a game.

First off, it's a remake. Secondly it's releasing in the most jam packed November in a long time. I realise it might sell over time but not as much as a fully fledged Halo title.
And Halo's popularity has definitely dwindled. Halo Reach, released barely a year ago, is sitting at No.6 in the most played games on Live.
I love Halo but there's no point denying it, it ain't what it used to be, especially without Bungie.

where are you going with that? has 343 released really anything yet with the IP besides a map pack?

343 haven't proven themselves yet obviously. I love the look of Anniversary and I think they're doing an admirable job but they don't have Bungie's flair.
I don't see how you can't be skeptical when they're a completely manufactured developer set up solely to make Halo games.
They exist to make Microsoft money from the Halo name and there's just something contrived and artificial about that.
I don't know, I just feel the spark has gone from the Halo franchise and I don't want to see a Halo 4 without Bungie at the helm. I'm going to reserve my judgement until I actually see the game. 343 seem awfully capable but they're not Bungie. Sorry if you don't get that.

And they fixed the MP. I can't believe it but they did in a few weeks what people were clamoring for for nearly a year with Bungie. They nerfed Armor Lock and added a playlist with no reticule bloom. Finally.

No need to feel sorry for me,but honestly man this sounds more of a case of nostalgia then anything else. I personally stopped caring about bungie after Reach and im looking for 343 to finally make an effort in putting a decent story in the halo games for once.

I imagine you have these figures if you are making the statement. I'd like to see them. If all of MS's exclusives have sold tons, and thus were profiteable, they wouldn't have stopped developing all but a few franchises.
Both companies have a few huge selling games, some lesser selling, and some poor selling. Really though, what's considered poor sales depends on how expensive the game in question was to produce.
