Do you think Kinect will have heavy xbox Live intergration?

It should for the 150 bucks you will shell out, Natal Fan. Don't buy it, either way. At least wait for reviews.

I'm sure it will, but I'm definitely not going to use it.

Paying $150 just so I can have voice recognition software on my Xbox when it's a very very minor convenience. I'll shave off a second of workload that I'd have spent picking up the controller off the floor. :?

Just wait for the price drop it will have if it bombs, which is a possibility.

I am a guy who works for verizon and I install Fios. I love my job and im all about pushing the envelope in regards to tech. I was talking about smarthomes when nobody knew about it, I was talking about FIOS when nobody knew about it, and Now I am talking about Kinect. Microsoft is going to make Kinect very useful in terms of home theater and such, xbox live intergration and so on. Gaming with Kinect is actually what im least curious about in regards to Kinect. I absolutely love the tech, and want nothing more to try it day one and watch a 1080p movie sitting down on my couch navigating thru the menu DAY 1. 150 will be well worth the price as Kinect now is in its infantsee.

Im going to go on a limb and guess you do this for money. I may be completely off base but the way these things usually work is based on a quota, a "consumers reached" and you seem to make thread after thread about the topic, asking questions that vary from informative to questions that you already have an answer or opinion on/to, on a constant basis. I could easily see you doing this across a few boards around the interwebs...

..

It is not to say that you may not be honestly excited for the product, but the constant attack of threads about it is just odd. Most fanboys babble on from some twisted form of desire for attention but I wouldnt peg that as the case here. In any case, whatever, in answer to your question, it may, it may not, based on the news coming about the machine in recent weeks there is nothing worth getting excited about....

To be perfectly honest, this has a lot of potential of bringing hours of hilarious entertainment, given that you're not the owner/user.

Not to mention the fact that most of the people here don't represent Kinect's main audience (based on the launch titles, anyhow.) Analysts are predicting the Kinect bundle will see extremely well this holiday to people that don't spend any time trolling around in boards like these - conservative estimates are 3 million. I too love technology, particularly multi-modal alternative input devices like Kinect. (I own a Novint Falcon, for instance.) The more types of various sensory processes involved with gaming interfaces, the better imo. So I'm sold on the future Kinect games despite the absence of truly compelling software at launch. But there are games in either in development or will logically come out eventually that sound really cool. For instance, Child of Eden, the Star Wars game, the inevitable boxing/fighting games, and Milo and Kate. Sure, Milo isn't a game, but from a purely technological standpoint, it is a technological wonder.

It'l be a good place for simple/casual kinect games without having to flood the main library with shovelware games. With all that ms has put into kinect, it would be logical for them to have xblive to spearhead their initial entry into the motion control business.

I'm interested to see how the indie games will integrate/explore motion control in games.

Watching a movie is the only plus point i can see, i mean what else can you logically do with your xbox and a motion sensing camera? Dance? Fight? Shake hands with someone in a different city... boring! Yes it aint for me at all, casual gamers and techboys can keep it for all i care. Also they took out the sign language so now it's even worse.

Do you speak sign language? And you ask, "what else can you do with your Xbox and a motion sensing camera?" Video chat, with a camera that tracks you around the room if you are moving around. That's cool... at least from my perspective.

For $150 it would be highly unjustifiable if it didn't.

It wouldn't be worth the money if it wasn't integrated.

And this seems like a 360 forums topic.

totally agree with you on that, the ability for it to track you when you move over to get a drink while you are talking to one of your xbox live buddy is another nice thing. People fail to realize that Kinect is very software driven as well, well it can do both, but software will improve as will the Kinect. Kinect on Day 1 will be a far different product than Kinect 3 years later, with the ladder being a much more impressive tech with all the kinds of tweaks and implimentations that are put into it.

I'm gonna laugh so hard in your face when the Kinect bombs in sales. Nobody is gonna pay $150 for the things you think what make it revolutionary (while it all has been done before and better).
