Do you think L.A Noir will be better than Mafia ?

Since L.A Noir and Mafia series look alike from gameplay footage and both having feel of 40's , do you think L.A Noir can be more popular than Mafia amongst gamers ?

I've high hopes for L.A Noir since ROCKSTAR GAMES developing / publishing it besides Team Bondi .

Yes. Mafia was hella fun, but I think L.A. Noire with its investigation on top of various types of gameplay will be awesome.

why are people comparing it to mafia? the only things that are the same are the hats and suits.

It´s a diferent formula. I hope it delivers.

Without a doubt. Mafia II was like a poor man's linear 1950's GTA, and it was relatively short too. LA Noire looks unique and while it won't be a sandbox game, the story and cool LA should keep me playing.

I am certain L.A Noire is gonna be better.

Mafia II was just n average rip off of the GTA games and other of that genre.

L.A Noire looks like it could be great.

I loved Mafia 2, way better than anything R* has put out this gen, and if they have the same clunky controls from GTA4/RDR in LA Noire I can say for certain it won't be as good in my eyes. But more popular? That's a given, not a lot of people liked Mafia 2 for some reason.ManicAce

I'm certain L.A. Noire will be a lot better than Mafia 2, that game was disappointing. Good, but disappointing.

I never played Mafia 2 outside of the demo. Also judging from what I've seen of L.A Noir, it seems like a very different game. Gameplay wise it seems to be going in the direction of a graphic adventure title.

Yeah any game with Rockstar's logo on it this gen is GOTY quality.

Mafia 2 was soo mehh.

It looks better in every way. I'm just stoked about the fact that you literally have to climb your way through the department ranks. You're not just, bam, I'm a Detective. That plus the investigation aspects, game is going to be gold.

Well considering they are nothing alike, I will say neither.

However LA Noire looks to be the better overall game...Mafia 2 was great but the open city had no exploration value at all. They could have really made it more content rich than it was. That was literally my only dissapointment and it was really a letdown considing how long it took them between the first and second. Its a mafia game through and through though.

LA Noire is exploring/murder/mystery...compeltly different. I cannot wait though, this and UC3 are the games to have this year.
