Are you taking about the dlc content timed exclusivity? Was that ever a real advantage in the first place?
I thought this place hated DLC......
Don't worry, when CoD goes back to MS next year they'll all love it again.
the only person on this forum who loves Cod is finalstar2007. everyone else thinks it shit.
you are an idiot.
It wasn't shit last year though eh?
@batosaims: Why would you want to go back to World War 2? We know that whole story and it's been done many many times. Maybe it's just me, but I like it when a game has plot twists and turns. A WW2 game has none of those in 2015.

Who the f*ck plays for the story? I like it more because it's less gimmicky, has more grit to it and the weapons are just more fun to use, plus it's been since 2008 since we had a good WW2 game. I'd even settle for Black Ops 60's style of shooter at this point.

lol so true ...
its always shit. its fun for about 3 hours. its bombastic and sometimes thats what you want for a day or so.
then you get sick of being shot in the back by campers. the last COD had an ok campaign and easily the worst multiplayer. the last cod i really enjoyed was COD 4 and that was just the SP portion. MW3's multiplayer was passable. the rest are just forgettable IMO.
I agree , after COD4 it felt a boredom to me also and one of the same experience over and over. I liked COD4 multiplayer though ( PC )
Yes. MS is a profitable company all around and could afford the Cod exclusivity. It's gotten a ton of publicity and will be seen as the games home for a while longer. They are saving a ton of money to be used on other projects. Sony on the other hand is profitable mainly in the gaming department. They probably shouldn't have taken the deal but oh well.
I think it upset fans of the series that bought an X1 to get the maps early. I know a few people that are really upset by this and all they play is CoD and the DLC until the next iteration comes out. CoD was associated with the Xbox brand and they didn't even know the game was available elsewhere because of the MS marketing strategy towards CoD. I think these people are the ones feeling the affects of this decision. I have 3 friends that are talking about trading in their X1 for a PS4 just to play the CoD maps early. I've tried to get them to play other games. (One enjoys Forza too) but the rest just want to play CoD every night. To each their own, I couldn't care less, but I don't think this will have no affect on MS and Sony. CoD is a top selling franchise year after year.
People on this forum don't care, but this forum doesn't really reflect the average consumer. I've met a lot of people that strictly play CoD or strictly play BF and to them, getting the DLC as early as possible is important. Plus browsing other forums and news sites, I've seen a lot of people upset by MS letting this deal go.
Def made the right decision. COD is a dying breed and doesn't muster much outside of e-sport gamers. When Titanfall 2 drops PS4 gamers will be saying "COD what?". And wouldn't be suprised if MS gets the marketing deal and timed dlc for that game.
Meh, either of them having exclusive DLC or early arrival DLC doesn't entice me at all to buy their systems just for that or just for one game, so I find these deals beyond stupid. Nor would it make me prefer one version over the other even if I was a huge COD fan, I mean I'm still paying for the DLC at the same price and it coming earlier doesn't make me want to rush out and buy the PS4 or X1 version. Personally, it's not a big deal, even if Xbox was considered the "home" of COD, (even though most systems have a stake in it, majority be darned) I guess to others it would be a huge mistake by MS.
I don't see a problem, Though I do laugh because Sony had to sell quite a bit of owned property, and lay off quite a few people to afford the pay out they made to Activation for it, and all they got was timed exclusivity something Sheens say is evil yet Sony has done since the ps2 days.
I've went on record defending the COD DLC and how big of a deal it was so I'd be a hypocrite now if I said it didn't matter.
BUT even when MS had the exclusive content for Ghosts and Advanced Warfare it didn't matter. People still bought PS4's and still bought COD on the PS4. So maybe it isn't as big a deal as I assumed it to be.
I'm sure MS will jump on something else maybe Titanfall. Or just work on their first party stuff.
I'd love to get back into COD if they went back to WW2 and dropped this futuristic bullshit. Black Ops 1 will always be the best COD game to me.
I agree about WW2 .. heck I would be satisfied with WW1 or Vietnam as well.
Have to disagree on BO1 .. hate Treyarch as a developer. I am skipping the franchise this year (or at least wait until it is a bargain bin item)
They did good. They'll be able to now spend that money on something worthwhile. Sony should do the same instead of wasting money on a mediocre franchise. I know casuals buy COD and its DLCs can affect Console sales but still...
Well the whole "Xbone getting DLC first" did not equate to a positive impact for the Xbone to begin with.
The PS4 versions still always sold more because of the larger install base and the PS4 versions are also in higher resolutions.
I don't feel like people really cared? You get it on both. Your friends play on your system. So whatever.
If you're a pro gamer you might care, but if you were a pro gamer you probably wouldn't play COD.
Waste of money if both consoles get the game anyways. That is why Phil Spencer said they are going to focus on 1st party stuff.
You people seriously think the COD change is that big of a fucking deal?
COD is been on the decline and isnt that system seller factor anymore.
Does anyone hear give a crap about COD anymore?
The people that care don't spend their time on these forums.
I've spent zero dollars in my life on DLC, and have played 2 COD games (the first one release on 360, and MW2), so i couldn't care less. I can't imagine being so hyped for DLC that the thought of waiting a little longer for it than others would impact me, so I can't blame MS for not thinking it's that important either.
I'm pretty sure most gaming forums hate CoD and call it "dudebro" for "casuals" so who really cares?
For sony it's a great move since it's still a highly popular franchise and they have no exclusives for the holiday season. For MS, they already have halo, fable, forza, and tomb raider launching this holiday so why spend money on marketing rights? It's still be out the same day for XB1 for the XB1 owners that want it. It's one of those deals that really worked well for everyone

It's been shit since 2007.
I'm really invested in the story of every COD game.
I believe that they match , nay , surpass that of story driven games like AC , Bioshock and many other.
And topodsaiggdfja0=dhag=-har.............................sorry i gust of wind blew inside my hole in my skull.
Yes.
It will definitely hurt Microsoft this Holiday season but they still have Halo 5 to help them. Plus, I'd rather Microsoft spend millions on creating new and interesting first-party titles like Quantum Break, ReCore, Scalebound, Sea of Thieves, etc. instead of, "LOL WE HAVE CALL OF DUTY DLC FOR ONE MONTH!!!"
I mean, yeah. It'll definitely help Sony push PS4's this Holiday but imagine how much of that money could have went toward making a new game? I dunno. I just don't like paid marketing deals and timed DLC. I'd rather see Sony and Microsoft spend the money on making their own games instead.
