The only real thing the Wii is capable of is control improvements, which should be interesting. I wonder if Capcom has given the games graphics a fair bit of tweaking or even a decent overhaul, because we all know that it is possible. RE4 firt onto the GC disc just fine and looked amazing, now the games graphics should be stepped up plus the PS2 content should be added imo.
It is just another re-release of the same game with new controls, all the PS2's extras, Gamecube graphics with upgraded 16:9 for a budget price. How the controls turn out will be the clincher. If they are great the game will score well. If they are not, it will score poorly. It could go either way. High-AA is probably a good guess as any.
Judging by the fact that halo3 for the PC got a 7.0 I would say no. But since Gamespot reviews don't follow any kind of logical pattern, it probably will score AAA.
I think it's possible, but very very unlikely. Simply because RES4 on the pc got a 7.8. Yes it was a bad port and this one is supposed to be better, but that just makes me think it will get AA.

Gamespot's preview from their visit to Capcom said it's definitely going to be the best version of the game. But it'll get that Best Tag with a beaming review alongside a crappy score, I'm sure.

I think capcom should stop milking RE4 already, its getting annoying. I mean it started out as a gamecube game, then got released for the ps2 which was cool, then capcom felt like pc gamers were missing out so they went ahead and released it for the pc, now they're moving it to next gen consoles on the Wii??? i mean what's next, RE4make for the ps3/360????
No, it's been released too many different times and I don't think the control will be different enough to bump it up to AAA status. I'll say it'll be in the 8.6-8.9 range, so high AA.

Doubtful, I mean look at halo 2 for vista, it is essentially the same game but with more features, im sure if it came out around the same time the original halo 2 came out it would have done much better. RE4 was an AMAZING GAME, it really was but since it has been out so long I don't think it will get the same score like it did. Granted it will still be amazing, but reviewers will keep in mind that it has been done before and it's just the same thing with new controls.

I think the controls are going to be sweet, I can already picture the context sensitive buttons to do something like run, duck from a knife, or jump out a window. I can see that being implemented perfectly.Â
Than again, some like Halo 2 may have not earned as high, but I just thought of something, what about Resident Evil for the gamecube, it scored a 8.9. That was a pretty good score.Its not unlikely to get a great score. MGS: Twins Snakes (MGS1) got in the 8s spot too.
Its honestly hard to say what it will be scored. if theres one thing gamespot does well is reviews all over the place that can make great sense or leave you wondering wtf they were smoking.
We know for sure Wii RE4 has True Widescreen, The PS2 Extras have been totally redone in the Nintendo Engine used originally so that aspect of the game was upgraded. Famitsuscored the game very high and said the controls were excellent.
I can safely predict as usual gamespot will find someway to whine about the controls as that seems to be their big thing with the Wii even when 99% of the media says controls great gamespot will say they suck.
This can basically be called the directors edition or whatever its everything in its maximum glory.Â

The Game is pretty much GCN graphics + PS2 content + Wii controls. It would have been nice if the graphics were improved but from the look of things any graphical tweaks are very minor.
Famitsu reviewed it 8/8/9/9 = 36/40. forgot the link. but its still doubtful it will get AA and AAA at GS and IGN. just look at what the PC version score turned out.
I'll guess an 8.7Â due to the dated visuals and tacked on motion controls in some cases. Like for example shaking the Wii remote to make Leon run away from a giant rock is just dumb in my opinion when a button press would work just fine.

I agree, I find it disconcerting that a games company does this when they have a great game. The developer should be producing quality games constantly, and so, when you see a successful game being milked like this, I question capcoms actual trust in the development team to keep it up. That said, as long as the controls are good and there is a general improvement, etc, this game shouldnt suffer for being a few years old, and i hope will get AA or above...

Dated visuals? I didn't here anyone say that GoWII's visuals were dated and quite frankly RE4's graphics >>>>>>>>>>>>>> GoWII's. Though I don't think the game will get a 10 for visuals (it is just a GCN port) it can't get lower then a 9 (it still happens to be a very very good looking GCN port).
i saw a preview of this on gamer tv in the uk and they said it was awesome only bad thing they said is that whenever in trouble all you do is shake the wii-mote (being chased etc)...i.e the wii-mote couldve been used better
RE4 was the best game of the last generation, it still hasn't been beaten by any next gen game. It will always score AAA, it's one of the best games ever made. I'll get the Wii version but I'll hold onto my Gamecube version for the normal controls.

yeah I don't see it getting AAA but it has been getitng some pretty good previews and as some people have said famitsu rated it 38/40, and seeing as I missed out on the GC and PS2 one I'll probably pick it up, especially if its cheaper ;)
