Will it be better than Halo 3? Hell yes.
Will it be more popular? The consumer shall determine that. I still believe the Halo juggernaut is hard to match unless you are Mario, Pokemon, Guitar Hero, Grand Theft Auto, Madden, or Final Fantasy.
Then again I did just list a bunch of titles...time will tell.

Lets see Brawl score a 9.5 or higher then... Im betting an 8.0

In all actually, online is the least on my min for SSBB, its the game itself I love and want toplay.

Both crap. One is a cheap attempt at Mario milkage while the other makes it impossible for online team work. That was easy.
i disagree... it will not get the media coverage that halo got, but maybe in the long run, SSBB will have more staying power... but then again, who knows. Goten_king
And again, no game will ever top Halo 3's marketing campaign, EVER! Nintendo didnt even advertise MP3, what makes you think they will with SSBB?
EDIT: Sorry man, didnt see the "not" in your post
Commercially? LOL!
Microsoft had a 10 million dollar advertising campaign, Nintendo can't top that.
As for sales.........no way!
Halo 3 simply sold too much. Every week it still sells around 80k while SMBB sells 0 every week until its released. Point is, it can't and wo't surpass Halo 3 in sales.

When Brawl sells 2 million in one night and sells over 8 million worldwide in 3 months, then MAYBE it can be said in the same sentence as Halo 3
so it needs to sell a million and a half more than Halo 3 in like 2% of the time to have the same popularity?Commercially? LOL!

SHeep like to think Halo is less popular, but they are only kidding themselves.

You honestly want to play the reviews card? REALLY? By your logic, why did Halo 3 fail to obtain the GOTY award on Xbox 360 or the Overall GOTY award? Especially when the 360's GOTY was a mulit-platform title and a lower score of 9.0.

Melee sold ridiculously well for the GC.
Super Smash Bros. is basically Nintendo's Halo, commercially.
[QUOTE="air_wolf_cubed"][QUOTE="V_Isle"]It will never score as high or sell as much.V_Islesorry but your sig gives you 0 credibility
Why are so many people seemingly convinced that Halo is a selling god?
Halo 3's 1st week numbers were incredible. Better than anything we've seen.
As of now, though, we don't have a clue whether or not H3 has sold 7 million or 5 million. Shipped-to-retailers for a game of this magnitude doesn't mean the same thing as others. There are TONS of copies of that game out there right now, and we don't know the exact number.
Melee sold 7 million on a dead console. Halo 2 sold 8 million. Why is it out of Brawl's reach?
Halo 3 wasn't the best-selling game of this year. It won't be the best-selling game of next year. It won't ever be the best-selling game. Halo is not the be-all-end-all of sales.
The Wii has two titles that are well on their way to 10 million already. Wii Fit is putting up massive numbers in Japan already (if they can produce enough, I think it might be the best-selling title of the year), SMG's legs are proving to be strong (much stronger than Halo 3's legs, btw), and it could be well on its way to breaking 10 million as well.
Halo 3 might never make it to that mark. Honestly, I give Brawl a 60% shot at outselling Halo 3.
Sales wise yes it probably will do better because there are more Wiis out there now than 360s and SSB is Nintendo's ultimate game. A lot of people are buying Wii just for this game.
Score wise 8.5-9.5 is my prediction, nothing lower.
I'm sure we'll see some "Wii would like to play commercials" for Brawl.
Yeah, and you have credibility.

Considering that Smash Bros on the GC outsold Halo 1 he is a lot more credibility than an insecure fanboy like you
well considering the incredably high attch rate of the 360, coupled with the sales success and currernt momentum of halo 3, i would say no,
considering that halo 3 belongs to a genre that has always sold better then SSBBs, the Online for halo 3 is more critically acclaimed and the attch rate of games to the Wiis numbers is a total joke.
however considering SSBs 7 million sales on the gamecube, consideration for its success is not outragous, however halo 3 has already managed to topple that in 3 months as of now it has alot more going against it then for it
No, SSBB isn't and won't be (in the future) more popular than Halo. Halo 2 is pegged at 8.45 and Halo 3 is already close to 7 million. By comparison SSB on the GC sold 6.58 units.

well considering that halo was a new unknown franchise on a new console with a low install base and SB was an established franchise on a years old console..thats a terrible point

SSBM is an estblished franchise...? On a years old console...
What are you smoking... The only previous SSB game didn't sell nearly as well as SSBM, and the GC was new when SSBM was released...
It sold nearly 7 million on the GC... Which only sold like 21 million units... ...
SSBB is going to sell like crazy.
Better? Yes, definitely. The original Smash Bros was better than Halo, and Melee was better than Halo 2, what's going to stop Brawl? Sales wise, maybe, leaning on no. Smash Bros games are like Mario games, they don't sell 8 million in two weeks, but by the end of the console's lifespan, you'll realize it just sold over8 million copies.
Still, I suppose it's nice to hope. You Halo fanboys are rather defensive about it arent you though?
