Technology is advancing pretty fast.
But 4k resolution is extremely demanding compared to 1080p.
By 2020 I think a 4k res TV should not cost too much.
Sony is releasing theirs at the cost of around 5000USD for the 55' version and 7000USD for the 65' version.
In another 7 years that price should be much more affordable.

New consoles could be due around 2020-2022. I don't think it will be a 12 year lifecycle to have to wait all the way to 2025. :P
I'm guessing most likely next consoles will be at least 4K, that is assuming there is a market for consoles at all. In 7-10 years 4K will probably be doable by low end stuff, even tablets/smartphones/Nintendo systems.Â
