so far we have the regular fps series and now we have a rts series. do you think that we would enduo seeing all different types of games with the name halo slapped on the cover like what they do with mario, megaman, sonic and quite a few others.

yes if they start making too many of them ill stop buying, just like final fantasy, mario, and the like i've stopped buying them.
I'm sorry but Halo Wars was the logical expansion of the series. No one complained about MGS VR missions, or all the crappy FF spin-offs. or to some extent, Killzone Liberation.
4 games, 3 FPS' and 1 RTS isn't over doing it. Halo started life off as an RTS, did it not?
There are four games, Halo 1-3 and Halo Wars. One addon coming soon Halo: ODST, and it took 8 years for that to happen. That seems like a respectable time frame of games coming out. Looking at other games such as Resistance, that had 3 games (Resistance 1-2, and Retribution)that came out over around 3 years.
Halo wars was a complete scam, I feel sorry for the fanbase that thought it was another shooter and ended up with a substandard rts.
tenaka2
How is Halo Wars a scam? On the box you could tell that it was a RTS, also everywhere else said it was a RTS, and if you are a hard core Halo Fanboy you should had been following it to know it was a RTS.
Also BTW, you quoted two fakeboys in your sig. Well one possible, very likely saolin323, and the other 404-not-found is one. 404 is really a hermit making fun of lems by over hyping Halo stuff.
Didnt bungie say they were gonna kill halo after odst :( SAGE_OF_FIRENo they were gonna kill any extra stuff for Halo 3 is what I believe it said.

who cares as long as it sells Ahh nisam sam... ;).Halo-Kart. Release date: 8/10/2010RotaryRX7i would actualy want to buy that game that game sounds fun making warthogs race gosts and stuff
indeed, although i can't see master chief in his own tennis game.That boat has sailed when Halo Wars was released.
The important question is, will it be a good overused series like mario, or will it be a crapfest like sonic?

Well there isalready a "Halo Kart" It is a game variant of Halo 3.
Only if it ever gets to the point of
* Halo Tennis
* Halo MLB 2010
* Halo Extreme Beach Volley Ball
* The Simlo's Dating Game
* Dynasty Warriors: Spartan Onslaught
* Halo Pro Skater
* Halo XIII
But on a serious note, I had said long ago that RTS was a genre that actually FIT in the Halo universe, and what could also work well was a 3rd person squad based tactical shooter (RainbowSix, GRAW) where you're the leader controlling a team of 3 ro 4 Spartans or ODST.

if it gets to that... im afraid we are going to have to put bungie down
The way the series has dipped (imo) since the original, given that it still holds great mass appeal, I reckon they'll just use the game as bait for buyers of the next console in 2 years give or take. So maybe they'll bring out 1 maximum 2 more games, but its hard to see where the story will come from..
We have a RTS series? We have three Halo titles, and one RTS spinoff (which has an AA average on Metacritic, mind you) in a span of eight years . I find that hardly on the brink of being "overused". :|so far we have the regular fps series and now we have a rts series. do you think that we would enduo seeing all different types of games with the name halo slapped on the cover like what they do with mario, megaman, sonic and quite a few others.

Out of curiosity, what do you think that Halo 2 and Halo 3 did wrong that made it get overshadowed by the original?The way the series has dipped (imo) since the original

Out of curiosity, what do you think that Halo 2 and Halo 3 did wrong that made it get overshadowed by the original? Halo 1 was legendary. Great single player and spectacular multiplayer. Halo 2 had one of the worst single players in a critically acclaimed FPS and although the multiplayer was very fun and helped bring XBL to life, it wasn't the second coming like some people claimed. Halo 3 was better than Halo 2 imo and a step in the right direction. I felt that it deserved its 9.5 rating seeing as it tried to raise the bar real high. IMO it goes Halo 1 > Halo 3 >>>>>>>>>>>>> Halo2[QUOTE="lukeevans57"]

Ugh, ambiguity. I would have preferred specifics, but I do suppose the Halo 2 campaign was an either "love it, or hate it" experience -- calling it the flat out worst is a bit ... "extreme". I flat out loved it, and thought it was a fresh new step forward from Halo, especially incorporating different and complex angles in the storyline (Covenant being tore from within, Guity Spark, Halos, Cliffhanger).

i would get those games just for the fun of it
Last I ever heard about it one of Bungie's lead devs actually is making sure that Halo does not stray away from what everyone knows as Halo. I think MS was really wanting to cash-in on the Halo franchise, but then Bungie bought themselves.
You'll see Halo games about shooting, and intergalactic war. Nothing else.

The trouble with the RTS part is yes, they could have the halo universe fit into it perfectly, but instead went with the whole huge base building for small amounts of units approach. Halo Wars could have been a good game if they had examined all the successful games in the genre and actually learned something about different ****. Look at WiC for example, that game basically has the ****of play that would have fit right into the halo universe.
