i have a really bad feeling that it will, i pray that it dosent happen and sony dosent give up on it. i'm having a heard time about how it's going to become very good. i believe that if it dosent die off then it will come in third. :( I dont want that to happen, what are your thoughts? Im really looking forward to HS because i'll be able to buy it and there arent many girl role models in video games, so yeah, i cant wait for that one at least! I have a feeling I'm about to die...Doesn't make it so. Sony won't give up on PS3, far too much money already lost to pull out now, they've got to make sure it sells well to make profit through the games. Sony may not keep all their promises (Like Microsoft as well, but hey they're companies) but they do support their consoles to the end, PSP is not "winning" but still it gets supported by Sony. Few years time, when the price is lower, games are cheaper and better games are out, it will thrive.8)

You're right. I recently bought another high-priced video game system on eBay for about $60. It's a 3DO. It collected dust on retail shelves over 10 years ago and it's still around - on eBay. I think they wanted around $900 for one when it came out. It was supposed to be an all-in-one entertainment center for the home. It failed because of price (and crappy games). Sony should've taken notes. Ridiculously expensive systems fail. The only difference between the 3DO and the PS3, for me, is I actually wanted a 3DO when they came out. I just couldn't afford it. Now I can buy a PS3, if I wanted one. I don't even want one, though. See you in about 10 on eBay, PS3!

do you have an idea of how much outdated ps3 technology will be in 10 years? , even the cell (at least this version that we see right now) will be fully useless.
I made a thread earlier asking about system deaths, and if they were a thing of the past. Nobody really cared to answer. I personally do not see the three main competitors changing. I think each company will be around for the rest of this gen, the next, the next, and maybe even the next. If by that time console games haven't been completely phased out by pcs...

The PS2 is very outdated, 7 years old, and still the number 1 selling console.Â

 you can't really compare ps2 with ps3 , ps2 had all the market share with almost no competition things are different now..
when did sheep and lemming concede the previous system war? I don't ever recall saying or thinking that PS2 was the standard to hold ourselves up to... imo the PS2 was just "meh." Admittedly the best playstation of the three, but just "meh."

DS is selling faster than the GBA, and will overtake the PS2 lifetime sales in japan very soon, and will pass 60 million before the year is up, there is no eating
