do you think we are 1 or 2 gens away from getting a really good fighting game?

this gen just isnt doing it for me in the fighting genre, yeah fight night round3 was ok , and street fighter 4 is ok, but i mean a really good fighting game, how far are we away from realizing something insanly good?

Street Fighter 4, Soul Calibur 5 & Virtua Fighter 5 are all great fighting games imo... Tekken 6 looks like it will be another solid fighting game..

However i'd like to see an new Guilty Gear & Rival Schools games for PS3/360...

I have no clue what you're talking about. The fighting genre is pretty healthy.

Seriously!? How do you want fighting games to evolve because I can tell you right now that this gen is enough to make Fighting games truly epic, they are only gonna evolve by graphics from now on because the gameplay is already as good as it gets. You just have really high standards when it comes to fighting games, maybe you have just grown out of genre.

Why wait for another gen if we can play awesome figthing games right now, IMO this has been one of the best gens when it comes to fighters.

Try Blazblue. It's amazing.
