No, I don't think they're same. I find that Xbox downloads are a lot faster and Live has a bigger community. I find that Xbox Live is lot more unified and it's easier to join games with buddies. I like how they're demos for pretty much every arcade game so you can at least try it out for yourself to see if you like it, rather than relying on reviews or videos. I do, however, notice more lag on Xbox Live (I experience hardly any on PSN). I think PSN is sllooowwwly getting there and Sony is at least trying to get better, whereas Xbox Live pretty much has it in the bag (console-wise), however I don't find it justifiable to pay anything for it. I care more for the single player experience so, in the end, I don't really care which service is better as I haven't played online in about year.
SOedipus
1. I'll give you downloads as I have heard they are slower for alot of people (not for me though). There are more people on Live but your over exaggerating it as there are still ALOT of people on PSN. I never havea hard time getting into a full or near-full match in any game.
2. I don't have too many friends on PSN so I can't really say, but I don't seem to have trouble joining up with them in the games we do play.
3. Yes I agree that there are alot more demos for the arcade/minis games on Live
4. Lag is the same for me on both systems so that's a lie, I lag on both Live and PSN (except for Killzone but that's a dedicated server so it doesn't count)
5. They are pretty much neck-and-neck IMO aside from the chat features
6. Yeah I agree, I really don't see the value in paying for it anymore after I got my ps3. Before then I had no problems paying because it was my only system and I thought that PSN was bad, but then after I spent some time on PSN I endend up being suprised at how similar it is.
