I've been gaming for 25 years now and the thought really hasn't crossed my mind. As long as they make good games, I'll probably play until the very end. How about you, SW? Do you think you'll ever quit video games?

I’ve been playing video games for well over 40 years now and really don’t see any reason as to why I’d ever stop doing that.
@Ant_17: I agree, although i wouldn't get motion sickness, just dont want put stuff on my face to play games.
God, I'm trying to think of the last time a AAA game held my attention for multiple playthrus. Bloodborne. I got to post-Rom in NG+, and it just lost all appeal.
XCOM2 was great fun, but the expansion is an abomination IMO.
Was GoW a great game? Certainly, but I had no intention of doing the trials of Muspelheim and Niflheim.
I'm still playing indies like Kingdom New Lands and Darkest Dungeon, both of which I bought at launch (PS4). I will definitely be picking up Dead Cells too.
I'll eventually quit buying new systems and games, but never stop playing the games in my collection.
In general, I would never quit gaming. Video games is only one type of the gaming industry. So, I would like other types of games.
I'm seriously thinking about detoxing.
Maybe not full-on quitting, but maybe selling my PC and getting a tablet for basic internet or something that I wouldn't enjoy gaming on (not a fan of anything mobile). Do this for a few months then get a new PC when the new Nvidia cards come out and are actually available haha.
I game 80% out of habit or laziness, not out of enjoyment. That has to stop. The problem is, I am still really passionate about games, they mean a lot to me and I want to play them for the rest of my life. I guess finding the balance is the tricky part.
Nah. Same way I'll never stop watching films, or listening to music, reading books etc.
The thing is with me...I can read for half a day and feel productive about that, not feel ashamed of it. I'd feel proud, even; coworker is like "Hey what did you do this weekend?" and I'd be like "Oh I finally finished all the Game of Thrones books" and actually feel good about that. If my response was "I spent all day playing Final Fantasy and doing raids in WoW" I wouldn't feel great about that.
Likewise, I can listen to music forever. Like if I could only do one recreational thing for the rest of my life, listening to music would probably be it. If I spent a whole day sitting on my sofa listening to records, that seems OK to me. If I neglected to run errands or take a shower because I was listening to music, I'd be OK with that. Games? Not so much; I'd feel like a lazy, stinky slob.
Movies are more like games, though, lol; not really proud of rewatching Breaking Bad for the third time.
But you get the picture.
Doubt it unless I ever become physically unable to play. Gaming is my favorite form of entertainment outside of watching sports.
I do play less and have other priorities, but I don't think I'll ever stop playing. Sure maybe it'll be only like an hour a week, vut it will be here with me
Probably not. Other things take priority, but gaming has always been a pastime of mine.
Yeah, this.
Are you kidding? I been gaming since 1993 and I'll never ever let it go! But ever since I join PC gaming back in 2007, gaming has now been totally easier then ever before then on consoles. That said, playing video games has always been my number one hobby but there are times I'll go into hiatus due to life of work, family and friends. Bottom line, I'm a gamer forever, forever a gamer!
I'll try to keep on gaming as long as my hands allows me to. Most important thing to remember is. live your life to the fullest!

I don't think I'll ever stop. I may play less often, though. If I had a wife and kids, obviously I wouldn't have much time to play games, but every once in a while I would play. Gaming has been a big part of my life for years. There's always something within video games that makes me come back for more. Perhaps it's the escape from reality that I like so much.
I don't know about the movies/books/reading argument. Games are much more effortful and at times can even be exhausting. They are also harder to do socially with family (and getting harder, with the death of couch coop). Trust me, when you are married and have pets and kids and things it just gets harder and less important than it once was to frag newbs.

You gotta learned to manage you're time wisely if you want to play more games. I have a family to look out for as well, but I always find a way to play my games all day long when I can of course. To be honest, I love watching Animes, but at the same time, I'm finding myself watching less and less Animes due to me playing more games then watching Anime due to amounts of my time playing games. I actually found the best way to watch Anime series is at midnight and it works for me. Just try to see what time of your playing time works for you is what I'm saying.

There will come a time when the kids want to do their own thing and you're still chained to home. That's when (your) gaming will get a second wind.
As long as my interest in video games remains strong for years to come, I do not think I will ever quit gaming. Of course, everything is based on interest if there is any.
Been gaming for 33 out of my 38 years, I can't imagine I will ever stop.

Why do you feel that reading/ listening to music is productive and gaming is not?
At 41 I don't know if I be playing games much longer. This is the worst generation I've ever experienced. I hate anything that has to do with connecting online with games. I don't care about the social aspect of online gaming. I hate dlc microtransactions broken launch games. I don't care one bit about playing online. There are so few games that I'm looking forward to I'm starting to question why I still have my systems.
Probably not, but I'm turning 40 this year and I can't tell you I have a very different relationship with the hobby than I did as a kid...
To do life to its fullest I just don't see how gaming can fit in as a priority. It's a down time activity in a life that sees very little downtime.
